Things To Take On Your Spring Break Vacation

I love to travel and going on a Spring Break vacation can be the perfect getaway before summer hits.

Whether you’re headed out with a group of friends, you plan to take your family, or it’s just you and your significant other, here are the top things to bring with you when you go.

Assuming you’re headed for warmer weather like a trip to the beaches in South Carolina instead of going on a ski trip to Colorado, don’t forget to pack these things.

Things To Take On Your Spring Break Vacation

Sunscreen

Warmer weather means more sun. And more sun means more chances for sunburns.

Help yourself out with brush-on mineral sunscreen. Not only is it easier to apply than most other creams, but it’ll also help protect you from the harsh sun’s rays.

It’s always rough when you get a sunburn on the first day of vacation.

You’ll end up in pain and misery for days instead of enjoying your trip.

By bringing your sunscreen, you’ll be more likely to use it and have it available when you need it the most.

Books

Did you make it your goal to read a book a month this year? Why not take your book with you?

If you plan to travel with your whole family, you may have a little time to sit and read a book.

If you plan to go with friends or just your significant other, it’s more likely that you’ll have enough down time to read.

Whether you’re enjoying a fun novel or trying to better yourself with a personal development book, reading while you’re on spring break can help you relax on your trip.

Comfortable Walking Shoes

While you may be planning most of your time at the beach or a resort swimming pool, some spring break destinations offer nearby attractions, parks, and activities that are best done in comfortable walking shoes.

Perhaps you plan to visit a local theme park or take a hike to a waterfall or local state park.

Your sandals are not going to cut it in those places. You need walking shoes that have already been broken in, along with a couple pairs of socks.

Weather Appropriate Clothing

Check the weather before you go. This winter had crazy cold weather in places that almost never see anything below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

While it’s unlikely this will happen again, it would be rough to end up in Florida during a cold snap with only shorts and tank tops in hand.

You’ll need warm weather clothes, including sandals, in addition to an outfit or two designed for cooler days.

Packing for spring break means you get to break out your summer dresses, skirts, shorts, and fun tops.

Swimwear

So what if you haven’t perfected your summer body just yet. If you’re headed to the beach or somewhere warm with a pool, you need swimwear.

You can find things online or check out local retailers.

Most stores have already started putting out their swimwear in anticipation for the surge in Spring Break Shopping.

This means that you can find a new bathing suit that fits you perfectly now for the trip you’re planning in the next few months.

Find something that you love and that you look great in. There are a lot of great one and two-piece styles that look amazing on any woman.

Beach Bag

Don’t use your suitcase to take things to the beach with you. This also goes for if you head to the pool.

A good beach bag is easy to clean and it may have holes that allow for sand to fall out.

Beach bags can hold a lot of things like your book, extra pair of clothes, towels, sunscreen, water, and beach toys for the kids.

It also can’t get moldy in case you forget to empty it out right away.

A beach bag is a must-have when you plan to spend a lot of time in the sun and in the water.

Workout Clothing

Need to go for a morning run or take a long hike? You’ll need workout clothes and not just your cute summer outfits.

You might want to pack a few sets if you plan to work out daily while you’re there. Taking a vacation doesn’t mean you need to let your fitness goals fall to the wayside.

A couple of pairs of workout leggings and tanks will be the perfect thing for warm weather while you’re on a spring break vacation.

Makeup

Planning a fun night out or do you never leave the house without something on your face?

Bring along your favorite waterproof mascara, some eye shadows, and maybe even lip gloss.

You can also pack some lip balm with a bit of SPF to keep your lips from getting fried in the hot sun.

Keep it simple. Too much makeup and you may feel like it’s melting off your face, and not enough and you may not feel as confident as usual.

Pick out a few must-haves and make sure they end up in your bag.

Technology

Whether you prefer to read paper books or look at things on your Kindle, bring along some technology. Tablets with a few games can be especially helpful if you have kids.

They are a great distraction when you need to wait in line.

Tablets can help them when they need to sit for long periods of time and want to run around. You can even download a few movies from services like Netflix, Movies Anywhere, and other online streaming services.

Also, don’t forget your charger cables.

You’ll need the ports and the cords not only for your tablets but also for your phones and cameras if you bring a separate one.

Planning for a spring break vacation somewhere warm means you’re getting ready for some fun and sun.

Don’t forget to bring along the essentials so you can just enjoy your trip.

Take sunscreen, clothes, toiletries, and keep your cosmetics simple. If you have kids, you may want to add some sand toys and their favorite blanket or stuffed animal.
