Make Your Own Lip Balm – It’s Easier Than You Think And It’s Fun!

One winter I made my own soap. It was truly fun to do and so nice to make products that I could use and know exactly what the ingredients were. So, when I saw Handcrafted Lip Balms: A Medley Of All-Natural Recipes (becker&mayer!, October 9, 2018), I was super excited to try it and make my own lip balms!

What exactly is the Handcrafted Lip Balms kit? It’s a DIY kit that comes with 6 lip balm pods that come in various, cute colors, beeswax pastilles, an easy-release mold, and a colorful, instruction booklet that includes 14 all-natural recipes.

The instruction booklet is very informative and provides some really fun and creative lip balm recipes, many made from ingredients that are commonly found in most household kitchens. Some of the lip balm recipes included are Tropical Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Butter Kisses, Honey Vanilla, Cherry Bomb, and other fun recipes! The book also includes other cool information, such as “Great Moments in Lips-Story,” which talks about historical information regarding lip products. It’s very fascinating. For example, did you know Cleopatra put crushed beetles in her lip balm (Pringle & Cortelyou, 2018)? Or, did you know the use of lipstick has existed for at least 5,000 years (Pringle, & Cortelyou, 2018)? The lipstick back then was a far different version from the lipstick we have today. The book also includes sugar scrub recipes and tips to help you have a successful and fun experience utilizing the kit.

So Many Uses For This Fun Kit!

I love to craft and do DIY stuff and this kit is right up my alley. However, this kit is so easy to utilize, that even those who don’t feel crafty can do this and have fun. The Handcrafted Lip Balms set would make a perfect Christmas gift for teens and adults! You could also get this kit, make the lip balms yourself, and give them out as gifts to others! Or, get a kit and have a fun bonding time with friends and family creating the recipes and then pampering yourselves!

The kit is available for purchase on the Quarto Knows website. It currently retails for $19.99 (price subject to change).
