This fun and easy Christmas Mickey Mouse Cupcake recipe uses everyday kitchen staples to create a delicious holiday dessert or snack your family will love.

All you need is:

  • some Oreo cookies
  • red and green food coloring
  • baking powder 
  • vanilla extract
  • a few eggs
  • salt
  • melted butter
  • flour
  • sugar
  • milk 
  • vanilla frosting 
  • Christmas sprinkles

Preheat oven to 350°. Line cupcake tins with cupcake liners.

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.

Add the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.

Mix well.

Pour the batter into the cupcake tins and bake for 15-20 minutes.

When the cupcakes are done baking, place them on a cooling rack to cool.

While the cupcakes are baking, divide the frosting into two bowls.

In one bowl, add red food coloring and add green food coloring to the other bowl.

Place the colored frosting into separate pastry bags.

After the cupcakes have completely cooled, frost half with red frosting and half with green frosting.

To turn each cupcake into Mickey Mouse, place two Oreo cookies on the edge of each cupcake to create Mickey Mouse ears.

Add sprinkles for fun!

Yes, you can use store-bought cake mix to make your cupcakes in this recipe instead of the homemade vanilla cupcake recipe that is included.

The steps will be pretty much the same. If you have a store-bought cake mix you love you can use it. 

WHAT ELSE CAN I ADD TO THIS CHRISTMAS MICKEY CUPCAKE RECIPE?

This simple Christmas Mickey Cupcake recipe not only tastes great, but it’s also incredibly versatile.

Try adding a surprise filling to the center of each cupcake.

You can use cream cheese frosting, chocolate frosting, jam, etc to fill the center.

I suggest adding your filling to a piping bag with an attachment and inserting it into the center of the cupcake and then filling it a little bit with the filling, then decorating the cupcake with the red or green frosting and Oreo cookies. YUM!
