Lessons To Be Learned With Benjamin Birdie

Benjamin Birdie Teaches Some Inspiring Lessons

Reading to your child is a wonderful, bonding experience.  It’s one that I cherish while reading to my granddaughters.  I’ve read some great and not-so-great books to them.  I recently had the absolute pleasure of receiving two gorgeous books!  Benjamin Birdie’s First Flight and Benjamin Birdie and the Tree Dwellers, both written by Michael Dotsikas.  These stories are inspiring and filled with great lessons to be learned.  Honestly, the beauty of these stories (and the illustrations, by Morgan Spicer) blew me away.

Lessons To Be Learned With Benjamin Birdie

Benjamin Birdie’s First Flight

This is obviously the first story of the two books.  Little Benjamin is a young bird that is completely sure he’s ready to fly.  Mama bird warns him he’s not quite ready yet, but as kids often do, he doesn’t listen.  After Mama leaves the nest Benjamin decides he’s going to do it no matter what.  Well, I don’t want to be a spoiler, but let’s just say…it doesn’t go as planned.  Things don’t go our way at times even in our own lives.  However, the bad times usually turn out to be a good lesson.  He ends up meeting lots of new friends that help him.  All he wants to do is get back to his nest!  Does he make it back safely?  I’ll never tell!  You’ll have to get your own copy to find out.  It’s a gorgeous story about real-life situations, which will make a big impact on a child because it’s relatable.  The illustrations are so vibrant and eye-opening.  Even the cover of the book is soft and almost rubber-like.  I can’t stop touching it.  Trust me, you and your child will love this book!

Benjamin Birdie and the Tree Dwellers

Benjamin is finally ready to fly (according to his Mama)  However, he isn’t so sure about it anymore.  Now that the time has come, he is a little more apprehensive than before.  It’s really going to happen.  To make a long story short, he jumps out of the nest and after some messy flying, he gets the hang of it.  His friends are cheering and so impressed with him that his courage has given them courage.  They all have their own dreams, which they try and make come true.  It’s such a sweet story because your ability to be positive can rub off on others.  You can be inspiring.

Both are amazing books that will show children that they can do anything they put their minds to.  I love this message!  Both books are available on Amazon or you can click on the links I’ve provided.
