Gather the Kids, Grab Some Snacks and Prepare for Utter Nonsense

For many, back to school means back to routine. Part of that routine is Family Game Night. We still have them in the summer, but not always the same night of the week. During the school year, FGN is every Tuesday. (Liam craves routine!) We recently got a new game and the kids are having a blast! Get ready for Utter Nonsense and silly shenanigans.

Gather the Kids, Grab Some Snacks, and Prepare for Utter Nonsense

If you haven’t heard of Utter Nonsense yet, then you’re missing out. This hilarious party game was designed for adults. They had so much with it, that they begged for a PG version to play with their children. That’s when Utter Nonsense, Family Edition was born.

How do we play?

It’s easy, but oh so much fun! The Family Edition (suitable for ages eight and up) game comes with four hundred and fifty Phrase cards, and fifty green accent cards. One person needs to be the Nonsense Judge. The game requests you choose the person with the stinkiest feet. :) The NJ deals each player seven phrase cards. Then he or she chooses an accent card from the deck. Now each player chooses a phrase card and reads their phrase in their funniest version of the accent chosen. The NJ chooses who wins each round and the first to win five rounds is the winner.

Adults only

The original Utter Nonsense game was designed for those eighteen and older. This adult version has forty-five accent cards and four hundred and fifty-five phrase cards. Be prepared for bawdy humor, inappropriate laughs, and maybe even some wine shooting from your nose. Spice up game night with your adult friends and family with Utter Nonsense.

We love it!

We recently received the Family Edition and played with my son, nephew, and niece. We had so much fun. The boys refused to let me record them, because you know, they’re “too cool,” for that now. However, my niece hammed it up and let me record the shenanigans. The resounding favorite accent was “Chewbacca,” and a vampire! These kids loved it, and I think yours will too!
