WHAT GOES WELL WITH BUNNY CUPCAKES?

Bunny Cupcakes go well with a wide variety of Easter snacks and crafts. These recipes would be great to make over the Easter holidays.

Some of my personal favorites include:

CAN I USE LIQUID FOOD DYE INSTEAD OF GEL FOOD DYE?

No, you cannot use liquid food dye instead of gel food dye to dye the buttercream icing.

Liquid food dye will change the consistency of the buttercream icing, whereas the gel food dye will not.

IS STORE-BOUGHT BUTTERCREAM THE SAME AS STORE-BOUGHT ICING?

WHAT DO I DO IF MY BUTTERCREAM ICING STARTS TO BREAK?

If you notice your buttercream icing start to break, place the bag in the refrigerator for 5 minutes to stiffen it back up.

This can happen because of the heat from your hands while you are holding the piping bag the icing begins to “break” (the color looks distorted) inside the bag.

I suggest rubbing some ice on your hands to keep them cool when handling the icing.

WHAT ELSE CAN I ADD TO THIS BUNNY CUPCAKE RECIPE?

Notes

Gel food coloring is preferred over liquid because the liquid color will change the consistency of the buttercream icing, where the gel color will not.

Store-bought buttercream and store-bought icing are NOT the same. Buttercream is stiffer than icing and is the recommended option for cake and cupcake decorating.

If you have hot hands, meaning while you are holding the piping bag the icing begins to “break”  (the color looks distorted) inside the bag, place it in the fridge for 5 mins to stiffen back up and rub some ice on your hands to keep them cool.
