There’s something special about enjoying snickerdoodles during the holiday season. This is the time of year when I see many snickerdoodles recipes online as well as for sale in the grocery store. I love being able to bite into a delicious snickerdoodle, there’s something magical that happens, I start to feel the spirit of the holiday season. For some reason, snickerdoodles simply remind me of the holidays and today I’m so excited to share this peppermint snickerdoodles recipe with you so that you can experience this delicious twist on a holiday favorite. To make these peppermint snickerdoodles all you need to do is gather the ingredients in the list below and follow my directions to make your own peppermint snickerdoodles treat to enjoy with friends, or all by yourself. This recipe does make 36 servings, so keep that in mind when you’re preparing to make these peppermint snickerdoodles.
Peppermint Snickerdoodles
Gather up your butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cream of tartar, baking soda, white sugar and sprinkles to start the process of making these peppermint snickerdoodles.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 tablespoons red or green sprinkles
- 3 cups flour
Instructions
My easy to follow instructions will ensure that you make a delicious batch of peppermint snickerdoodles in just under half an hour of time.
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Cream together butter, sugar and the eggs, vanilla, and peppermint.
3. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
4. Mix the sugar and sprinkles. Roll balls in the sugar and sprinkles. Place 2 inches apart on a baking sheet.
5. Bake for 8-10 minutes until set but still soft. Remove immediately from baking sheet on to wire rack to cool.
Makes 36 servings.
If you want a quicker way to make these peppermint snickerdoodles you can simply purchase premade sugar cookie dough and roll it in the sprinkles. You will get the most delicious homemade flavor when you make my peppermint snickerdoodles as shown in my recipe above.
