I love that the Jurassic Park/World franchise has started up again. I remember watching the first one in the earlies nineties, I was hooked! The visual effects were well ahead of its time and it was such a captivating storyline.
I made these Jurassic World Cereal Treats to commemorate Blue – the first engineered velociraptor of Jurassic World. The way he is portrayed, he has blue-grey skin and so I thought creating a marbled effect for the dessert would totally be fitting.
Are you a fan of the Jurassic Park/World series? Who’s your favorite character? Let’s talk about it in the comments below!
Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter
3 cups mini marshmallows
4 cups rice cereal
1 cup white candy melts
1 cup blue candy melts
2 tsp coconut oil, divided
Yields: 15-20 dino eggs
Directions
Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside. In a medium-sized pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
Remove melted marshmallow from heat and add rice cereal. Fold until cereal and marshmallow mixture are thoroughly combined.
Mold the cereal treats into egg shapes, about 2 inches in length and 1 in width (at its thickest part). Place carefully on a lined baking sheet.
Place each of your candy melts in microwave safe bowls. For each bowl, add 1 tsp of coconut oil. Microwave them in 30-second intervals or until completely melted.
Pour melted white candy in a larger bowl. Then, pour the melted blue candy. Using a spoon, carefully fold the two colors into one another to create a marbled look.
With the help of a fork, dip each of your egg-shaped cereal treats into the melted candy and place back onto your lined baking sheet. Place in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes. Enjoy!
