Give Kids, Tweens and Teens the Gift of a Great Book This Holiday

As an avid reader and escapist of reality, I love to give books for gifts. The holidays are no exception. Here are some titles that I think are perfect for kids and Tweens.

Give Kids, Tweens and Teens the Gift of a Great Book This Holiday

Books not only help our children with their literacy skills, but they help engage their imagination. Good books will teach them life lessons that they can use in real life. Here are some fantastic new books that will make great gifts.

The Santa Thief

Okay, so this title first grabbed my attention because it’s about none other than the man in red! Also, it takes place in Pennsylvania, which I knew my son would love. Little Georgie wants nothing more than a pair of ice skates for Christmas. But when he learns that Santa may not make it this year, he decides to take matters into his own hands. This heartwarming tale of boyhood in the 1920’s is a great read. Kids ages four and up will love it.

Stealing Snow

This book caught my eye by the cover alone. The art is exceptional. The story is just as wonderful! The main character is seventeen year old Snow. She’s spent most of her life in a mental hospital. However, she knows she’s not crazy. With the help of an orderly, she breaks out and heads into the woods. There she finds her true home. Among witches, thieves, and more. This book really pulled me in, and I know your tweens and teens will as well.

The Legends of Orkney Series

If your child loves Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, then this trilogy is perfect for them. Book one is The Red Sun. The second in the set is Kalifus Rising, and the newest and last installment is The Raven God. Follow Sam and his friends in their magical adventures.
