At Home Spa: Treat Yourself While Your Kids are At School

You have waited several long years for this day to come, all of your kids going to school for a full day. A good portion of the day is now yours and you get to enjoy however you want. This means you can finally deep clean the house, start some serious crafts, or enjoy a nice relaxing morning by yourself. You can also start a new workout out routine or join a class at the gym. Whatever you do end up choosing, make sure it is the best for you and your health.

If you need a serious pick me up, an at-home spa day may be just the cure. You do not have to spend a ton of money going to an expensive spa. You can give yourself the love and care that you need within the walls of your own home without breaking the bank.

At Home Spa

Here are five ideas to try for your at-home spa day:

Nails

You can be in sweat pants and have your hair in a messy bun, but if your nails are done you can still feel like a million dollars. Sometimes nails become neglected and are only cut when they have gotten too long. Giving them some extra love can go a long way because it can prevent hangnails and ingrown nails.

Shape and file your nails for a great look. Buffing and painting them is also a nice added touch if you want to add some excitement or class into your day to day life. Get creative and try something new such as nail stickers or nail wraps.

Bubble Bath

We are not talking about your average bubble bath with a lot of bubbles. While those can be fun, they can also be a little messy. We are more interested in baths that are healing and detoxifying. Epsom salt, essential oils, bath bombs, and even oatmeal mixes can help relax muscles and relieve back and joint pain.

There are a lot of different at home bath recipes that are easy to make with some household products. These baths are great if you want to prevent getting sore from after working out as well. Make sure to soak for at least 25 minutes to 1 hour. Be careful when you stand up to prevent passing out. Since all of your pores are all open it is not good to wash with soap or put lotion on your body for several hours after your bath.

Facials

There is nothing better than having a freshly cleaned face. Facials are a great way to perfect and smooth your skin while getting rid of dirt and build up. Start off with some kind of face wash that is gentle on your skin. Next use a wash that has cleansing as well as exfoliation. This will help get rid of the dead skin cells on your face. After your face is washed you can choose what kind of serums and moisturizers you would like to use. If you are short on time you can always use a face mask that will take less time without sacrificing great results.

Massage

Going to a massage therapist can get expensive if you are going on a monthly or even bi-weekly basis. You can always look up to how massage basic body parts such as your hands and feet. You could even invite some friends over to massage shoulders and backs that can be hard to reach. If you don’t want to go to the hassle of inviting others over, you can always use a foam roller or tennis ball to work out knots in your back and get the blood circulating throughout your body. Massaging your feet with a good cream keep your feet soft will help keep your feet soft.

Makeup and Hair

It is always nice to give your face and hair a nice touch up when you have some extra time. It may be time to break open that new eyeshadow set you have not been able to use yet. Or it may be time to use that hair mask you got for your birthday. Whatever the case you can make these products at home or go out and buy them from your favorite store.
