Eyeshadow 101
Eyeshadow is used to emphasize and shape your eyes. Whenever you apply it, make sure to use a small amount of color, then gradually build it up until you’re happy with the effect. It’s much easier to add more color, than it is to take it away from the lid.
A great bit of advice to follow learned from my years of applying eyeshadow, is to work on both eyes at the same time. If you regularly step away from the mirror to assess your work, you can make sure eyeshadow looks even.
I always prefer shimmery shades, from nude ones during the day, to a pop of electric bright color for the evening. Metallic options are a great choice as they can be vivid or minimalistic depending on the look you’re going for—all you need is one rich shade to make your impact.

Every eyeshadow application needs a brush; I prefer using a blending brush. It has longer, loosely packed bristles and is best if used in circular motions across your entire lid. It works to blend colors together and soften any harsh lines.
