Everyone who knows me knows that I love getting into the spirit for any holiday or celebration. I like to go all out with themes, colors and décor. It’s no wonder that I recently came up with my Valentine Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie.
This year, I didn’t want to only make desserts for Valentine’s Day. I figure there was so much more to the holiday. Imagine enjoying a romantic brunch with your partner? Very few people do that! I also wanted to whip up a healthier alternative to traditional V-Day treats. Who needs a dark chocolate truffle when you can enjoy peanut butter, oats and strawberries in one delicious drink? (Okay, well to be realistic, I would enjoy both! But it’s all about balance, right?)
If you have a blender, then take it out because this smoothie is so easy to make! I opted to use frozen strawberries rather than fresh ones. This helps me eliminate ice as an ingredient. It prevents my drink from becoming too watery/diluted.
Do you have plans for Valentine’s Day? Tell me what you’ll be up to in the comments below!
