Its always nice to make plans for the months to come down the road. In a sense it gives you something to look forward to as that time approaches.

Sometimes it can be hard because there are several ideas that come to mind.

Well, this year you could consider checking out what the Cola Concerts Series has to offer.

If that hasn’t crossed your mind before then you may want to check out the information I have for you below.

This would be perfect timing too! Recently Cola Concerts has announced four new shows being added.

Folk Duo Indigo Girls Join the Cola Concert Series

Grammy-winning folk duo the Indigo Girls are heading to Columbia as part of the Cola Concert Series.

The Indigo Girls are one of the most successful folk duos in history.

Their self-titled debut album, released in 1989, sold over two million units under the power of singles “Closer to Fine” and “Kid Fears”.

Over a thirty-five-year career that began in clubs around their native Atlanta, Georgia, the duo has recorded sixteen studio albums (seven gold, four platinum, one double platinum), sold over 15 million records, and built a dedicated, enduring following.

Musical collaborations with a new generation of devoted peers like Brandi Carlile, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Sierra Hull, and Matt Nathanson continue to bring newcomers to Indigo Girls’ audience.

Jubilant crowd singalongs that often overpower the band itself are a trademark of Indigo Girls concerts.

The phenomenon epitomizes the sense of belonging and celebration that Indigo Girls’ music radiates.

Dark Star Orchestra Joins the Cola Concerts Summer Lineup For Two Nights

Dark Star Orchestra will be headlining a pair of shows at the Columbia Speedway Entertainment Center as part of the Cola Concerts Series.

On Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6 the band will replicate a different performance from the Grateful Dead each night, playing an entire set from one of the Dead’s iconic live shows.

Performing to critical acclaim for over 20 years and over 2800 shows, Dark Star Orchestra continues the Grateful Dead live concert experience.

Their shows are built off the Dead’s extensive catalog and the talent of these seven fine musicians.

Dark Star Orchestra offers much more than the sound of the Grateful Dead, they truly encapsulate the energy and the experience.

It’s about a sense of familiarity. It’s about a feeling that grabs listeners and takes over.

It’s about that contagious energy…in short, it’s about the complete experience and consistent quality show that the fan receives when attending a Dark Star Orchestra show.

Cola Concerts Welcomes Disco Biscuits

Later in the June lineup, Cola Concerts will have another great additon for you to check out.

They are adding a pair of shows featuring the Disco Biscuits, the pioneers of “trancefusion,” bridging the gap between electronic music and jam bands.

The Disco Biscuits are an entirely different band today than they were when they first broke out of Philadelphia in the mid-90s.

That’s not to say that they’ve abandoned their foundation, switched gears or set sail for distant shores.

They still remain rock pioneers whose soul belongs as much to marathon dance parties as it does to live
improvisational journeys.

They still employ emerging technologies to help them create music that is 100 percent human although,
perhaps, not entirely of this earth.

First up is The Indigo Girls on Wednesday, May 26. Next is the Dark Star Orchestra on Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6. Then on Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19 Disco Biscuits take over.

Tickets are on sale now so its not too late to grab some for the family!
