Shatter Your Senses with the New Ripley’s Book

As usual, Ripley’s has done it again. Their new book, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Shatter Your Senses is chock full of the interesting, strange, and sometimes even macabre. If you’re like me and you love to know the “unknown,” then this book is for you!

I’ve been poring over it for an hour now, and I can’t put it down! I’ve been jumping around a bit, but totally plan on going page by page soon. There’s so much amazing information and photographs inside, it’s addicting!

Did You Know?

In the 1940’s Walt Disney helped create Mickey Mouse gas masks? Think about it, when you’ve seen The Empty Child on Doctor Who or not, gas masks are scary. The friendly Mickey masks were designed for children eighteen months to four years old, and thankfully none of them ever had to be used.

Animal Lovers on Your List?

If so, they’ll love this book too. It’s chock full of stand out animals. Like a dog with two noses, or a conjoined fish. How about a two foot long sea slug? My son is a huge fan of Coyote Peterson and actually saw the episode in which he discovered this mammoth slug in a tide pool. It’s amazing!

senses 2

Pop Culture too!

Shatter Your Senses has a pop culture section too. Did you know that there is Burger King Whopper scented perfume? Or a New Mac scented candle? Have you heard of the Sour Toe Cocktail served in Canada? There’s a REAL preserved frostbitten toe in the drink, that according to the rule, must touch the drinkers lips. (Gag.)
