Introduction

In most of the cases, there has been a challenge of how to best place the TV in the safest and most comfortable position either in the home, recreational centers or in workplaces. Linear actuators have brought a huge revolution in the way the PA TV lifts; are designed in order to suit both the size and the weight of modern TV while also giving the user the appropriate satisfaction. This article discusses the way linear actuators can be used to make a PA TV lift to hide a personal TV.

Linear actuator application in TV lift

Linear actuators have numerous applications and has widely been used in the design of TV lift mechanism to hide or move the TV in the user’s favorite position, with the use of a 12 volts DC power connected to a linear actuator. Innovators have come up with various types of linear actuators that has successfully been used to create TV lifts that has catered the size and the weight of the TV.

TV actuators operation

The TV lift actuator is designed to lift the TV vertically in either ways, that is upwards or downwards to or from the ceiling respectively, raise the TV from the floor or behind a desk in work place, or move the TV from right to left according to user’s preference.

Additional TV lift appliances

The efficiency of a TV lift actuator can also have boosted by incorporating a remote control and switches to enable the user to be able to have the optimum control of the Lift whether wired or wireless with no challenge of power shortage because most of the control boxes uses AC power that can be connected to the normal power outlet and output 12vdc connections. This has enabled the TV lifts to have many applications and uses.

Procedure to use to make a TV lift

First, in order to create a linear actuator designed to move the TV vertically up or down, a vertical drawer preferably made from wood needs to be constructed. The drawer should be self-guiding because the linear actuators; are mostly designed to have the pushing and pulling motion. Next, the TV is supposed to be positioned in the vertical drawer, therefore it is important to have the right precision in regards to the TVs size and length while also considering the allowance for the actuator so that when the TV is being lifted it is steady and balanced. When selecting the actuator, it should have the same stroke size equal to height of the TV but with an allowance of some few extra inches. It is also recommended that the user should purchase 2 MB3 brackets which should be installed at the top of the back of the drawer in order to enable its lifting and also at the base of the cabin. The 2CH-RC remote control together with a FA-12-10A power supply should be connected. The TV lift actuator should then be tested before installing the TV to ensure that all the drawers closes and opens seamlessly. The actuator base should then be positioned to ensure that when the drawers are closed, there is total closure of the actuators internal limit such that it switches itself when retracted. After the proper installation the linear actuator should enable the user to hide or move the TV according to the user’s preferences.
