How Do You Know if You Have Inner Peace?

Finding a moment to breathe is difficult, especially if you are in a role or job where, if you slow down, you will get run over. But our minds and souls need time to slow down to recharge and refocus.  

The big hurdle we all have is finding the time, but making your inner peace a priority is a vital part of maintaining your overall health. Starting with beginner meditation and graduating to more in-depth mindfulness exercises, you will be doing a lot of hard work.   

But if you have taken that journey and it is now under your belt, how would you know if you have achieved it? And what is inner peace? In this article, we will attempt to define inner peace, give you a few ideas on how to get there, and detail a few signs that you can use to tell if you have reached your inner peace. Inner Peace – What is It? 

Inner peace can be hard to define, probably because true inner peace is dependent on the person. There are of course definitions available and we all have our own thoughts of what it is. Most people think of a person who is passive and dull, but it is far from that. If you look up the definition you will find some variety of the following: 

Inner Peace: Also known as peace of mind. This is a state of being that is achieved through mindfulness techniques like meditation and results in a mental-spiritual state of peace and happiness. 

The result is usually close to the same, but the journey is always different. So how can you find inner peace? 

Ways to Find Inner Peace 

You must know how to get there first, so below we are going to give you a few things you can do to help you on your journey. Here are a few tips to finding your inner peace:

Think of your brain as a room full of clutter and your journey to inner peace are you clearing it all out. Once you have unloaded all that clutter you will be able to think and live in the moment without tripping over insecurities and past regrets.  Now you have the tools how do you figure out if all your hard work is working. 

Signs You Have Reached Inner Peace 

There are definite signs you can see once you have achieved inner peace. You just must know what to look for. Some of these signs are: 

You are less judgmental 

You have fewer insecurities about who you are and that means fewer inner dialogues about how this is wrong, or you did that poorly. This translates to others as well. You have come to understand that everyone has their own path, and this means that you are judgment-free. 

Your mind is less cluttered  

Your mind has quieted and has less or no moments of frantic thoughts racing through it. This also means that there are less negative noise and a lot more positivity drifting through the thoughts of your mind. 

You worry less 

Inner peace will bring you less time spent worrying about the past or the future. Instead, you will be able to accept things for what they were, what they are and what they will be. So, when you find yourself easily able to handle things without stress, you may have found your inner peace. 

You smile more 

If you feel good, your smile and joy become an everyday fact of life. If you find yourself in this position daily inner peace has been achieved. 

You’re more connected with love 

When you have decluttered all the negativity and found your calm then loving yourself is a by-product. So, when you find yourself accepting who you are and extending that love to the people around you could have found your inner peace. 

Nature calls! 

Often once you have found your inner peace you may find yourself having more urges to get out into nature.
