The other day while shopping I told my daughter I needed to get some GARBAGE BAGS and she automatically said HEFTYHEFTYHEFTY, I started laughing so hard I snorted.  Now it doesn’t seem too funny, BUT I was picturing John Cena carrying out my garbage while I was chanting HEFTYHEFTYHEFTY, the same time she said that out loud.  Okay, you needed to be there!

Anyways…so we got Hefty Garbage Bags!  Our family needs a STRONG (Active Tear Resistant Technology for superior strength) garbage bag because our walk out to the dumpster is long and we have had many bags break on the way out.  So I don’t have the time or the energy to clean up garbage so do it right from the begining, buy Hefty!  I get the exceptional performance at a new low price now plus it has Arm & Hammer patented odor neutralizer. No more MORNING FUNK in our kitchen anymore. I even caught my daughter sniffing the bag before she put it in the other day.  I asked her why she was smelling the garbage bag.  She informed me that it smells so good she has to sniff 5x before putting it the can…I know crazy kid!

Well, this crazy kid came up with an excellent idea for Halloween using a Hefty Garbage Bag- A Ghost.

What you need to make your GARBAGE BAG GHOST:

  • Hefty Garbage Bag
  • Scissors
  • Yarn
  • Rubberband
  • Sharpie
  • Plastic Bags, Paper, or Ballon for the HEAD!

Lay your trash bag out flat. Decide on the size for the head of the ghost using the plastic bags, paper or a balloon.  We had a lot of plastic bags so might as well reuse them as the HEAD!

Need to cut the end of the bag- the handle off.

Put the ghost head you made in the bottom of the bag Wrap string or a rubber band (we found the rubber band works bests) that will form the ghost’s “neck.”

Draw the face, now my daughter drew a CUTE GHOST but please do your own- maybe SCARY!!

Cut upside-down V shapes around the bottom of the bag to make the ghost look wispy.

Then it came to …..how are we going to hang it, MOM.  Oh darn, I forgot that step.  Quick thinking saved the day! Puncture 2 holes on top of the Ghost head (not too big) and tie the yarn around a pipe cleaner/pencil (anything that will go through the holes)

Then tie the yarn to make a big loop.

BAM…you have a GARBAGE BAG GHOST, which is so darn cute!

What an adorable idea! I know a lot of school districts don't allow students to wear their costumes to school anymore unfortunately, so this would be a nice school alternative to take and wear in certain classes. Great DIY!

What a cute idea. I think having my little guy help with making the ghost will keep him from being so frightened by it.
