Bhutan
This country can prove very difficult to get into. Not that it would have any kind of restriction towards you, but because it wants everything up front. That’s right. In. Advance. So once you shed out your two to three hundred dollars you’re free to get started with your trip. The good thing is that aside from drinks, everything else is covered by that advance payment. That means not just accommodations but also meals and guides as well as transportation for as long as you’re in the country.
Nauru
Getting to Nauru is a challenge in itself. So much so actually that the saying “it’s not about the destination but the journey there” feels most appropriate in this situation. The reason for that is because people that want to get to Nauru are probably looking for the rush of having to jump through some pretty hardcore hoops in order to do so. Let’s start with the first predicament: you need a Visa to get into Nauru. Usually, that wouldn’t be a problem since you only need to go to the Nauru embassy and…wait, Nauru embassy? Indeed, the country isn’t represented and many places so how you are supposed to get a Visa is anyone’s guess. The country actually has representative officials in Taiwan, Fiji, Thailand but also Australia, so you would probably have to plan a trip in any of these locations if you want a Nauru Visa. Moving on, there’s the issue of getting there physically. Nauru is only served by one airline, which is Our Airline. They don’t make trips to Nauru daily, however, so you have quite a bit of perfect synchronization to plan ahead.
