Things You Must Remember to Pack When Going on a Cruise Trip

If you have booked yourself your first cruise excursion, you have all the reasons to get excited. Travelling and vacations itself is a very exhilarating experience that gives your system a fresh kick start but going on a cruise ship is a different deal altogether. There is nothing like sailing on a floating city in the middle of the sea, diving in pools on the deck and gazing the stars amidst the darkness and calmness of the ocean. Cruise trips are not like your regular vacations and therefore, unlike popular belief, you cannot just embark on your trip with cruise wear stuffed in your backpack. It is always a good idea to go the extra mile when packing for a cruise trip to be able to enjoy your trip to the best.

Luggage

Unlike air travel, cruise trips allow you a much more reasonable weight allowance and do not charge you for extra pieces of baggage. Storing is also not much of an issue since you get your cabin on the deck. That being said, the type of luggage that you carry on your trip depends on for how long will your trip lasts, what stopovers, will you be having on your trip and the type of cabin that you have purchased. If you are on a longer trip you might need a few extra clothing and essentials however, it would still be more sensible to pack light to avoid the inconvenience of dragging your luggage around. Moreover, most cabins on cruise liners are pretty small and accommodating a lot of oversized pieces could be a problem. Ideally, try and stick to a backpack.

Toiletries

Even if you are on the luxury deck of the Royal Caribbean Cruise, at the end of the day you are in the middle of the sea. Your bathroom on the cruise might have complimentary toiletries but more often than not they do not suit us and are not close to the quality of products we use. Although cruise liners have marts and stopovers are part of the journey, but it is best not to rely on that option and pack travel-sized toiletries along. Make sure not to forget the sunscreen.

Cosmetics and Haircare

Yes, the cruise liner has a salon on board, but it can be insanely expensive and certainly not cheap enough to crash every day. Pick up your cosmetics. That does not mean you need a whole vanity. A concealer, highlighter, foundation, powder, blush or tint, lipstick and mascara along with a beauty blender is good enough. You might want to pack your hair straightener or hairdryer.

Medicines

If you are on any prescription drugs or are prone to sicknesses such as fevers, migraines and stomach bugs, packs relevant medicines along to avoid inconvenience and discomfort.

Gadgets and Accessories

Its 2020 and we need to stay connected to the world to keep our businesses running and stay in touch with family and friends. Therefore pack your gadgets such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets. Make sure you have all the ancillary peripherals such as chargers, earphones and flash drives. Do not expect to find your tech supplies in the middle of the sea. It is highly recommended that you pack spare batteries too.
