The car industry is really putting out a lot of exciting stuff right now. Manufacturers are stepping up with innovative designs and cutting-edge technology. Having done some digging, here are some of the most buzzworthy and hottest cars of 2024 that you need to know about.

7. BMW XM: The Ultimate M SUV

BMW has an “M division,” which has been around since 1972. With the XM, the German carmaker is changing things a bit. It is a plug-in hyrbid SUV that Car and Driver says will put out up to 577 horsepower. That’s fairly impressive. It’s also a good looking car that really exudes luxury. That said, the “hybrid” part of the car leaves something to be desired. You can only go about 31 miles on battery only and the car’s total range is 300 miles. The charging options aren’t the greatest either. In the end, if you’re looking for a luxury SUV, the XM could be a good choice, but I wouldn’t look twice at it if eco-consciousness was a big selling point for me.

6. Toyota Grand Highlander: Family-Friendly Versatility

I’ve spoken about the Highlander a few times. It’s a great SUV for families. One of the more unique things about it is its wide range of engine options. You can go with a hybrid or spring for a turbocharged engine (and everything in between). The interior is a nice place to sit, with all the bells and whistles you’d expect in a modern car. You really can’t go wrong with this SUV, especially if you’re a family man.

5. Hyundai Ioniq 6: The Future of Electric Design

Hyundai is doing a lot to change the automotive industry with its Ioniq brand. The Ioniq 6 is a sleek-looking EV sedan. You don’t have to worry about getting where you need to go because it has a fantastic range of up to 360 miles. There are a few different configurations to choose from, which offer anywhere between 168 and 320 horsepower. If you opt for the “higher-end” Ioniq 6, it’s actually quite quick. This car proves that going green doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style or performance.

Lucid Air has been focusing solely on electric cars since its inception. They are selling the Pure as a luxury EV. Like Tesla, the interior has a minimalist approach. What really sets it apart is its 406-mile range, making it one of the best in its class. It’s also got substantial power and can go from 0 to 60 mph in under four seconds. Although it is an emerging car brand, the Lucid Air Pure is something to watch.

3. Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray: An Icon Goes Hybrid

Chevrolet is really changing the game with the Corvette E-Ray. Most carmakers are shifting focus toward eletric vehicles, but I don’t think anyone anticipated the Corvette to go hybrid. However, it’s somehow many this iconic car even better. Chevy combined the Corvette’s V8 with an eletric motor, which poroduces 655 horsepower. It also has an all-wheel-drive system that helps provide the car with great grip and control on the road, even in the most challenging of conditions.

2. Ford Mustang Dark Horse: A Muscle Car Reborn

Ford has revamped the Mustang in a big way with the Dark Horse model. It puts out an astounding 500 horsepower. The Dark Horse is one of the last few cars being produced right now with a V8 engine, making it attractive to many car enthusiasts. Overall, it’s a thrilling car to drive and has an old-school muscle car vibe about it that can’t be matched in today’s market.

It kicks out 493 horsepower and honestly it’s just a beautiful thing to look at. Not to mention, it is lightweight and agile on the road, which really makes you feel connected to the road beneath you. If you’re lucky enough to get behind the wheel of the GT4 RS, it is an unforgettable experience.
