Summer is here, and we have a lot of parties plus day trips to go on, so I’m stocking up on party drinks. Kids are always thirsty, but I just don’t want to give in to SODAS! Stop the madness I say and give out healthier choices to the children. No parent wants to deal with a cranky sugar high kid while trying to enjoy the party. I will have drinks for the younger kids plus even something for the teens!
Let’s start out with AquaBall
Did you know a typical drinks cooler holds about 48 cans of soda – that’s an average of 1,872 grams or four pounds of sugar! WOW, that is amazing, and we all know we’ve had those coolers at our parties. Not cool giving guests a bunch of SUGAR! I also know my kids love to sneak the sodas even when I tell them NO! I’m not a fan of the kids drinking soda, so I don’t usually have them in the house, but when we have a party, yes I fill up the coolers with drinks for the guest. I need to re-think what I put in there now, especially for the kids.
Kids need to stay hydrated too during the summer and getting them to drink WATER is such a fight, but I have won the war with the help from AquaBall. Which is available in four fruity flavors, AquaBall is the only zero-calorie, sugar-free and preservative-free children’s beverage on the market. To keep kids cool, the naturally flavored water – available in Berry Frost, Fruit Punch, Grape and Strawberry Lemonade – features fun, colorful packaging with fan favorite characters from Disney’s “Frozen,” Disney Princesses, Marvel’s “Avengers,” and Disney Classic Characters.
So not only are they good for the kids they are so cool looking and TASTE amazing. My kids now ask for WATER….fun water is what my youngest called AquaBall. Another thing I like about AquaBall is the size, perfect for kids. I’m always finding half empty water bottles in the kid’s room but not AquaBall they drink them up all the way. You can find AquaBall at Albertsons, Safeway, 7-11, IGA, and much more- check where HERE
Now for the Tweens/Teens
My older kids need to sip on a drink too, and since I’m banning sodas from parties, then I will turn to one of our favorite beverages- Capri Sun. Capri Sun is a staple in my house for the kids. I will stock up for back to school soon, but to my surprise, Capri Sun has a NEW Capri Sun Sport, flavored water sports drink specially formulated for kids to keep them hydrated and feeling like superstars on and off the field. This sounds perfect for outdoor gatherings.
Capri Sun Sport has no high-fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, giving kids the taste they love and of course as a mom I love what this drink has to offer the kids. Made with a blend of electrolytes and water, 20 percent less sugar* and 25 percent fewer calories** than leading regular sports drinks, Capri Sun Sport will help keep active kids hydrated. So instead of serving juice, I plan to have boxes of Capri Sun Sport out for our next party. Nice addition to the party drinks, right? I got all the kid ages covered. You can get Capri Suns at your local stores.
