I’m a big coffee drinker. One time I even worked at a café so I could have all the free coffee I wanted. That’s how much of a coffee fan I am. So, I’m always up to trying a new coffee brand or flavor. Well, recently, I was given the opportunity to try Mama Java’s The Unicorn, a “secret light roast.”
The Unicorn is made from coffee beans from Columbia. Oh, and the smell when I first opened the bag and when it was brewing was so delightful! And, as for drinking it? It’s smooth and delicious! I love it! I’m not a big fan of bitter coffee and this was NOT bitter.
According to Mama Java, “We *very* carefully select our beans and roast them to pass what we lovingly call the ‘motherhood test.’ You can let a cup of Mama Java sit, reheat it, even drink it cold and old and it will STILL be a great cup of coffee. If that’s not enough, we’ve made our roast names and descriptions funny and relatable to REAL mom life.”
I love how down-to-earth this company is. They tell it like it is! On the coffee bag it even says, “Because mom needs coffee,” which is so true. They truly understand the life of a mom.
And, they know how to produce a great bag of coffee! According to their website, they are a “small batch specialty roaster.” What this means is that they roast the beans based on the orders for the day (versus roasting tons and tons of beans and letting them sit until who knows when they go into the bag for shipment). So, you know your beans will be fresh, which means a better quality cup of coffee!
Mama Java’s coffee would make a wonderful Christmas gift for the coffee drinkers in your life. It’s something the gift recipient would use, so it’s useful and won’t go to waste (or just sit in the closet). And, it’s something that’ll help make their day—giving them the boost of caffeine and wonderful flavor they’ll appreciate (and they’ll hopefully think of you as they take every sip).
