Are you trying to figure out what to do on vacation this summer? If so, I have an exciting destination for you! My husband, kids, and I absolutely love Busch Gardens! Describing our time in Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA is going to be easy because we had such an unforgettable time. There are some things you should know about Busch Gardens. The first thing is that it’s a 2-park destination. How fun is that? Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are top destinations this summer.
When we arrived
When my family got to Busch Gardens, we were super excited. There was a ton of excitement in the air as we walked up to get our tickets and move through the line. We were headed to Busch Gardens for the day. I should say that there is something for everyone in the family to do. My kids are much younger than my husband and I, so they were excited about the rides. I enjoyed seeing the animals and relaxing as much as possible. Nothing beats taking a day away from the ordinary and having an extraordinary day!
If you ever decide to take a day away from the chaos of life, Busch Gardens is the place to go. There are tons of food options available. There are a variety of places to choose from when it comes to food. Dining at Busch Gardens includes places like Das Festhaus, Grogan’s Grill, La Cucina, Marco Polo’s Marketplace, Squire’s Grille, Trapper’s Smokehouse, and so much more! You will have plenty of chances to get up close and personal experiences at their variety of restaurants.
The experience
Again, the rides are a very fun part of Busch Gardens. I can guarantee you there is a never-ending supply of things to do while here. There is always something to do! Let’s talk about the roller coasters for a minute. In my younger days, I was a roller coaster freak. However, my kids could ride the roller coasters for days! Just to name a few of our favorite coasters, there is Alpengeist, Apollo’s Chariot, Griffon, Loch Ness Monster, Tempesto, Verbolten, and InvadR. I think we named them all, but seriously, we love them all!
Busch Gardens has eight world-class roller coasters, including the all-new wooden coaster InvadR! I have to say; my favorite is InvadR, I love a good wooden roller coaster. There is just something about the coaster gliding on the wood that makes it so much fun. Even though summer is coming, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy Busch Gardens throughout the year. There’s fun for every season at Busch Gardens, with different events throughout the year and so much to do and see.
Make memories with your family, get out and enjoy a day or more at one of the parks. Goodbye school, Hello Summer- Enjoy it at Busch Gardens & Water Country USA! You can plan your 2-Park summer trip to Busch Gardens & Water Country USA here.
If you want to take a little break from all the fun and rides over at Busch Gardens, then spend a hot summer day in a fun and refreshing way at Water Country USA, VA’s largest water park. Water Country USA has more than 40 slides & attractions (kids play areas, wave pool & more), So much fun to be had. There is so much fun to be had at both of these parks.
Shopping
Find souvenirs and gifts for the whole family. Explore a variety of gifts including Busch Gardens themed merchandise shops like Union Jax (England), Emerald Isle Gifts (Ireland), The Village Candle Carver (New France), German Gifts (Germany) and Artisans of Italy (Italy). There are so many places you can stop in to buy a gift or two. A few of their souvenir shops I loved are the Felt and Feather (England), The Tempesto Shop (Italy), Verbolten Shop (Oktoberfest). Those were just a few.
The Animals
We had so much fun visiting the animals and strolling through Lorikeet Glen. I loved seeing all the birds flying around and actually letting them get close to us. We also had a chance to get up close and personal with the animals. We did the Ultimate Animal Insider tour, and it was so educational and fun. We learned so much about the Clydesdales & Collies. They have other tours you can do – Zoo Keeper Experience, Wolf Training Up-Close, and Clydesdales & Collies Up-Close. They also have other tours like the Roller Coaster Tours, Family Fun Tour, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg Elite VIP Tour, just to name a few.
Fun At The Shows
Now if you want to relax and take a break from all the rides, then you need to check out some of the shows they have. My husband and I watched shows while the kids went on the rides. A few shows we watched were: All For One, Celtic Fyre and More … Pet Shenanigans. They also had Mix it Up!, Sunny Days Celebration and so much more.
With plenty of food, fun, and entertainment, I don’t think you can go wrong. If you can, check out Busch Gardens VA – there are tons of attractions and rides.
Start making more memories with your family this summer! Head to Busch Gardens in VA.

My favorite theme park memory was riding my very first roller coaster.
My favorite theme park memory is going to Six Flags with my cousins and riding what was then a new ride that everybody was talking about. I’ve forgotten the name of it, but it was one of those types of rides that lifts you way up and then suddenly drops you. I think it had a parachute on it. It was a big deal at the time because it took you up higher than other theme park rides.
My favorite theme park memory is bringing my kids when they were toddlers onto the kiddie rides. Their excitement is what I remember most. Busch Gardens is amazing. Love it. Thanks so much.

My favorite memory is the year my mom made us all wear these matching, horribly bright and generally ugly (to a teenager) bright yellow t-shirts when we went to Disney World. She said wearing them would make it easier for her to keep track of everyone. Well, it rained the first day we had them on and everyone in the park was suddenly wearing bright yellow ponchos. You couldn’t tell us a part from anyone else! Thankfully that meant we didn’t have to wear them at all the rest of the trip and we teased my mom mercilessly about that for years!

When I was little we would drive down to Denver every year and go to Elitch Gardens. They had the best kiddie rides including a small roller coaster and ferris wheel. That started my love of roller coasters.
