Kids Halloween costume shopping with CostumeExpress.com

Halloween is around the corner and its one of my favorite times of the year. I love costume shopping with the kids, buying candy for the kids, picking out Halloween décor for the house and of course trick or treating. It seems I’m not the only one who loves Halloween. According to NRF (National Retail Federation) Halloween spending is up 12% year over year, total combined spending estimated to reach $8.4billion and shoppers plan to spend an average of $82.93 this year, with 67% of that will be on costumes and candy. NRF also said Pinterest has seen a 133% increase in growth as a costume inspiration resource over that last four years.

Going costume shopping with the kids is fun but at the same time can be challenging especially when there’s so much to choose from and they constantly change their minds as to what they want to be. It helps to know what’s in and what’s out as far as costumes go. A great resource for all things Halloween is CostumeExpress.com, the family-friendly destination for everything needed to celebrate Halloween. They offer a complete assortment of unique costumes and accessories for dress-up play that encourages children to develop their imagination and creativity.

The folks at CostumeExpress.com said one of the biggest trends in 2016 for kid’s costumes is action and superheroes and girl power – superheroes, villains, strong movie leads are on trend for girls i.e. Rey- Star Wars: The Force Awakens. PJ Masks, Shopkins, Star Wars, Batman, Wonder Woman, Captain America and Harley Quinn lead the pack for top costumes this year. So what’s not on trend this year?  Princesses are not as strong for 2016 as they were last year – there will be a big push in 2017 for Princesses, as well as the live action Beauty and the Beast movie launch (Belle). Non- licensed costume sales are down i.e. Vampires, Army Soldier, and Decades.

My kids are going to be the coolest cats in the neighborhood! My son’s favorite new show is PJ Masks on Disney Junior and he chose to be Catboy this year. The costume is adorable and looks so good on him and it fits really well. The PJ Masks Catboy Deluxe Toddler Costume comes with the jumpsuit with attached boot covers, tail, gloves, and soft headpiece. There’s a really cool feature with this costume as well. The Catboy symbol on the front of the costume and on the headpiece glows in the dark.

My daughter who is almost 8 years old decided to be Catwoman from The Dark Knight Rises. She loves wearing black so of course this is the perfect choice for her (LOL). The Dark Knight Rises Deluxe Catwoman Kid’s Costume is great for any girl who dreams of being a superhero or a super-villain. She’ll look good doing it!! The deluxe costume comes with everything that your child needs to transform herself into Catwoman including the black stretchy jumpsuit, belt, gloves, cat mask, cat ears and shoe covers.
