How To Plan An Easy Couples’ Weekend Getaway

The daily grind can take its toll on the average couple. It’s easy to fall into a routine of work, errands, and home life.

Before you know it, it has been months or even years since you spent any meaningful time together as a couple.

While many factors can play a part in the lack of quality time, not knowing how to plan a couples’ weekend getaway is often one of the main problems.

Fortunately, it can be as easy as following these steps:

Step 1: Choose a Main Activity

There’s nothing wrong with going away for a weekend with no activities in mind, but it can sometimes mean you’re not as motivated to leave your house.

Consider choosing a main activity you and your spouse would both like to participate in so you can plan a trip around it.

For example, you might inquire about Hunter Valley tours for vineyard adventures if you and your spouse like tasting new alcohol. If you’re both adventurers, you might book fun activities like kayaking, whitewater rafting, or hot air ballooning.

Step 2: Book Accommodation

Book accommodation in your chosen location once you have dates in mind for your main activity. The type of accommodation you choose can depend on your budget and preferences.

For example, nature lovers on a budget might pitch a tent in a national park. Alternatively, you might opt for a cabin or treat yourself to luxury five-star accommodation in a resort. Before making your booking, pay attention to nearby attractions.

The more conveniently located your accommodation is, the more activities you might be able to enjoy on your weekend away.

Step 3: Make Travel Arrangements

It doesn’t matter how far you travel; the time you spend together matters the most.

Still, making travel arrangements is crucial to planning a successful weekend away. Plan how you’ll get to and from the airport if you’re traveling by plane, such as a rideshare service, your car, or having a loved one drive you.

If you’re traveling in your own vehicle on a road trip, ensure it’s roadworthy, freshly serviced, and has enough fuel to make it to the next gas station.

Step 4: Plan Food

Every couple can have different ideas about how they’ll eat while on a weekend getaway. Some couples want to prepare their own food on the road to save money. Others will set aside funds for dining experiences in local restaurants, bars, and cafes.

Sit down with your spouse and ensure you’re on the same page with meal planning. If you’re on a budget, you might plan to make snacks for the road and treat yourself to the occasional restaurant meal.

Step 5: Plan Often

It’s easy for life to get in the way and stop you from spending quality time with your spouse. After taking the four steps above, the fifth step can be planning these trips often. Make time for each other to keep your relationship strong.

Planning a weekend getaway doesn’t have to be a complicated or time-consuming process. Choose a primary activity, book accommodation, and make travel arrangements.

Take these essential steps at least a few times a year to enjoy quality time with the person you love.
