The Ford Motor Company has a rich history. It has produced some of the most iconic cars in automotive history. They’re known for everything from muscle cars to doing-everything trucks and family-friendly SUVs. With their diverse lineup, the car brand appeals to all kinds of people. Whatever you’re looking for, there’s a Ford for you. Here are some of the greatest Fords ever made.
8. Ford Focus (1998–2018)

Most people I know owned a Ford Focus in their family at some point, myself included. It was designed to be the perfect blend of performance and affordability, and it was just that. The Focus quickly gained traction in the compact car segment, and the ST and RS models gave car enthusiasts something to love about the car too. In the 2000s, Ford introduced a new infotainment system that made it one of the most tech-forward vehicles in its class.
7. Ford Taurus (1986–2019)

The Taurus was another vehicle that changed the game in the midsize sedan market. It had a somewhat futuristic design and became a best-seller quickly. Like the Focus, the Ford Taurus had higher-performing models, which interested driving enthusiasts who were looking for a practical car with a punch. Like the Focus, it has been discontinued, but it still remains a huge part of the company’s legacy.
6. Ford Escort (1968–2002)

If your family didn’t have a Ford Focus, you probably had an Escort. It’s true, most people I knew had one or the other within the family at some point in time. These tough little cars were affordable, and reliable, and gave you what you asked from it. Best of all, there was a range of options with the Escort. You could get it in a hatchback, sedan, or wagon. It was great for a first car or something the whole family could get around in. Sadly, the Focus ultimately edged out the Escort, but it still remains one of the most successful cars ever produced by Ford.
5. Ford Bronco (1966–1996, 2021–Present)

The Ford Bronco is probably best known as O.J. Simpson’s getaway car, but it’s more than that. For Ford lovers, it is an off-road icon. This car was Ford’s answer to the Jeep. It could easily go off-road, but it was still comfortable as a daily driver. The Bronco was discontinued, to the dismay of many, in 1996. However, it made a comeback in 2021 with a new, modern design and advanced technology, but it still has the same rugged capabilities as the earlier version.
4. Ford GT (2005–2006, 2016–Present)

The Ford GT is a supercar that represents what Ford can be at its best. It was inspired by the GT40 that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1960s. It was quite literally designed to keep up with Ferraris and Lamborghinis. When the car was revived in 2016, it took things to the next level with a twin-turbo V6 engine. It is truly a masterpiece.
3. Ford F-150 (1948–Present)

You can’t talk about the greatest cars Ford has made without mentioning the Ford F-150. Ford first introduced the pickup truck to its lineup in 1948. It has become the best-selling truck in the United States. The F-150 is great if you need something that will provide heavy-duty power or just something to use to commute on a daily basis. Not to mention, the latest models come with all the creature comforts you’d find in a luxury car. There are even hybrid options available, which proves that this powerhouse of a truck is every bit as relevant today as it ever was.
2. Ford Mustang (1964–Present)

Like the F-150, there is no talking about Ford without talking about the Mustang. It is probably one of the most iconic cars to have ever been produced by the manufacturer. The Mustang made its way onto the scene in 1964 and introduced the pony car segment, which paired affordability with a sleek, powerful design. Ford’s Mustang has had a lot of different looks over the years, but it continues to have a timeless appeal for motorists and car enthusiasts alike.
1. Ford Model T (1908–1927)

The Ford Model T is possibly one of the brand’s greatest achievements. It made its way to the market in 1908 and quite literally put America on wheels. Ford’s innovation at the factory level made it possible to create an affordable vehicle that was obtainable for everyone. The impact of this car on the entire automotive industry cannot be overstated.
Ford’s Legacy

Over the years, Ford has created a number of groundbreaking cars that have shaped the industry. From the revolutionary Model T to the Mustang, you can’t deny Ford’s influence on the market and the automotive world as a whole. Each of these cars has played a role in the company’s success and continues to be celebrated by enthusiasts, like myself.
