Creative Ways to Enjoy Winter Break with Kids

Creative Ways to Enjoy Winter Break with KidsWinter break usually brings about celebrations, events and other fun times. There are usually some pretty amazing things going on during winter break for the family to enjoy together. Other times, winter break can be an overwhelming time for parents who have to work or are uncertain of how to spend this time with their kids. Today I wanted to share some creative ways to enjoy winter break with kids so that you and your kids can end winter break with some fantastic memories and big smiles.

Go Ice Skating

If you live in an area that has an indoor or outdoor skating rink, then go on and enjoy a day of ice skating as a family. This may cost some money unless you have a town common that offers a free ice skating rink for the community to enjoy together.

Have a Movie Day

Grab some DVD’s from Redbox or create a list of movies to watch on Netflix and have a full movie day. This is a great activity to do during winter break with kids when the weather outside is simply too cold to handle or you have a kid who’s feeling a little sick.

Go Light Peeping

You may have heard of leaf peeping during the fall season but what about light peeping during winter break? Some homes still have their holiday lights up, so hop in that family vehicle and take a mini road trip to enjoy the holiday lights that are still up on homes and buildings.

Go, Bowling,

Many families enjoy going bowling at their local bowling alley during winter break with kids because it gets you out of the cold weather and can be quite competitive. Have a blast creating your own family bowling tournament during winter break with kids.

Build a Snowman

It’s always fun to build a family of snowmen during winter break with kids. This is the perfect way to get in touch with your inner child again and enjoy some fun times watching how each of you create a snowmen replica of the family.

Craft it Up

Grab some baskets and craft supplies to create some holiday baskets for friends and family. Walk around or drive around to deliver fun little crafty gift baskets to spread some cheer during this cold weather season.

You can do a lot of other mini-activities with your kids during winter breaks, such as having a baking contest, enjoying a meal out at a favorite restaurant or hosting a slumber party for friends and family. The most important thing is that you try to take the time to enjoy winter break with your kids so that they have some wonderful memories to look back on when they’re grown.
