Big Designs for Tiny Spaces
I know all too well about tiny spaces. We outgrew our home years ago, but just can’t afford a mortgage. After twelve years, I’m super sick of having no space, and of everything looking bland. So I grabbed a copy of Janet Lee’s Decorate This, Not That!
This book is like a decorators bible! If you have a small space that needs a new face, then this book is for you. Lee will help you reassess how you integrate your home furnishings and making your small space look larger. This book is a DIY lovers dream! Consider it a manual to help you organize, declutter and decorate your home.
Inside and Out
Decorate This Not That has ideas for decorating every room in your home, as well as outside. There are even plans for an outdoor petite garden. Just because you don’t have a lot of space doesn’t mean you can’t have a lovely garden.
I love her ideas!
Janet Lee has some awesome ideas! One of my favorites is how she takes an old chair and hangs it on the wall. Then she has blankets on the seat, and hanging off the rungs on the bottom. With a family that loves blankets, we have a ton! So you bet that I’ll be on the look out for the perfect chair to do this with. I’m hoping I can find two, so I can use one in my master bathroom for towels.
A colander light
When I first married my husband and we moved back home, his grammy gave me this gorgeous, red and white enamel colander. It’s old, but in wonderful shape. When I saw Lee’s idea of turning one into a light fixture, I knew I found the perfect purpose for mine. I haven’t done it yet, but it’s on my hubby’s to do list. (And I will nag him until he makes it for me!)
