Beauty Bonding with my TWEEN!

Bonding over Beauty

It’s time for the BEAUTY TALK with my daughter. She will be a teenager this year, and I’ve been noticing some changes within her that we need to address. I didn’t have the beauty talk with my mom, wish I did, but thank goodness I had a subscription to TEEN magazine or else I would have been lost. I want my kids to come to me when they have concerns or questions.

My daughter is my best friend, and we spend a lot of time together, so I told her we are going to have some BEAUTY BONDING. She was super excited and even had some questions. Her questions was exactly what I wanted to talk to her about…. skincare and a routine.

We agreed that we needed to head to our favorite Target store and see what products we want to try on our Mother- Daughter Skincare Adventure! When I say adventure I mean it, we both need help in this department. I’m in my forties, and my skin is changing too. Target stores have all our favorite brands like Neutrogena®, AVEENO®, and Clean & Clear®. We headed right to the beauty department.

We first searched for Clean & Clear® Triple Clear Exfoliating Scrub. Her skin has been breaking out a lot lately, and I’m pretty sure it has to do with hormones. She will use this scrub on a DAILY BASIS.

Her face breaks out a particular time of the month, so we are going to use this product to help prevent future breakouts. Her routine is using this at night time to scrub away all the dirt and oil from the day. Her favorite part is how the aloe and mint soothe her skin while washing. I appreciate she is taking the time and effort on her skincare. Taking care of oneself is always important and instilling this in her at a young age I’m hoping will help her in the long run.

I love to see how much I save each month. This month so far I have saved $33. That is a lot for this mom! There is a 5% off Aveeno and Clean & Clear products, so I made sure I clicked them and at checkout saved 5% on those items.

Another way I save money (or make money in this instance) is the deal I saw in-store: Buy 3 Neutrogena products (skin care only), get $5 Target gift card. I love these deals because I can give the Gift Cards to my kids when they deserve a special treat.

We will be able to get these deals til the end of March so that I will be stocking up on our Skincare Adventure products. After our mother-daughter beauty bonding shopping trip, my daughter felt so good about what to do about her skin and kept thanking me, so I think I got Mom points.

Be open and talk with your kids about their beauty routine, they need our direction even when they think they know everything….remember they don’t!

I love the Aveeno facial! It works wonders! I definitely agree that getting into a routine as young as possible is SO important for your skin. Great post, hope she's loving her new routine!

Target stores are our favorite shopping place too as you get almost everything there. For beauty products I have been using few from Neutrogena lately and that Facial Cleanser from Aveeno sounds amazing too!

What a great way to bond with your tween! I wish my mom had done this when I was a kid. I always felt a little lost when it came to taking care of my skin. There was a lot of trial and error with products. But I love clean and clear. I still use their products as an adult.
