FLC Legal: The War In Vietnam That Was Never Reported

FLC Legal: The War In Vietnam That Was Never Reported, written by Richard Franks, takes us into the Vietnam War and shows us a side many of us have never seen nor heard of. It involves trial lawyers and their experiences in the military while in Vietnam. I, personally, find the military legal system quite fascinating because it’s unique and almost its own world, dealing with its own issues unique to the military. Add a war to that, and things get even more complicated. Well, this story certainly demonstrates that! FLC Legal will transport you into the military legal system during a time when our world was in turmoil and provide you with a glimpse into situations and cases that may shock you. This book would make a great gift for those interested in history and/or the military. FLC Legal is available on the Austin Macauley website for $16.99 (paperback) and $24.99 (hardcover).

The Story Of Our Lord And Savior

The background of the making of this book is fascinating. The author, Jerry Campbell, had an encounter with his guardian angel at the age of 7, which helped him heal from his illnesses. Then, later in life, he had another encounter not that long ago. It was this later meeting that changed his life once again and resulted in his decision to write this book, The Story Of Our Lord And Savior. This book begins with “Jesus, the Beginning of the Creation of God,” and ends with “A Story with No Ending.” Throughout the book, the author provides biblical references and his easy-to-follow telling of the story of the life of Jesus Christ. He also discusses his experience with his guardian angel and with God. This book is available here. It’s available in paperback ($9.99), hardcover ($23.99), and ebook ($3.50).

Big, Bad Dad

For the kids, Austin Macauley has some fun books. The first is Big Bad Dad, by Ryan Bourquin. Have you ever seen a gentleman with humongous muscles, a big, stocky body, earrings, and tattoos up and down the arms and on the knuckles? Do you feel intimidated when you see someone like that? When you see that, do you have a preconceived notion of what that person is like? Well, Big Bad Dad teaches children that famous lesson: “Don’t judge a book by its cover”—but in this book it’s about not judging a person by their appearance nor by the way they act. In this story, Violet’s dad looks big and bad, but he’s actually a really sweet, caring, loving father! This book is available on the Austin Macauley website. It comes in softcover ($8.99), hardcover ($13.99), and ebook ($3.50) versions.

There Once Was A Cloud

Another children’s book is There Once Was A Cloud, by Tina Falconi. This is a cute little book about a cloud who is sad because he wishes he could have a friend. He sees the children playing on the ground and he wishes to be with them. An older cloud tells him that he can join them by becoming fog. He does eventually become fog, and finally gets to enjoy playing with the children.  However, eventually the children are no longer happy because the fog takes away their sun. What will the little cloud end up doing? To find out what happens, pick up a copy of There Once Was A Cloud—it’s adorable. It’s available here. It comes in paperback ($9.95), hardcover ($22.95), and ebook ($4.95).

Somebody Else’s Shoes

The next book teaches children about being in someone else’s shoes. The book is appropriately called Somebody Else’s Shoes and it’s written by Suzanne Ludwig. The book teaches the reader about different roles one can play in our world and the shoes they may wear while playing those roles. According to the back cover of the book, “We attach meaning to a person’s shoes, and who wears them. Shoes say a lot about us, including what we may do for an occupation or what we wear to get us through the day…shoes really do make the person.” This book is available here. It’s available in softcover ($14.99), hardcover ($25.99), and ebook($3.50).

Petula, Circus Cat

The last book for children is titled Petula, Circus Cat, by Marylouise Sholly. This is a cute story about a stray cat that finds a home with the family of Mr. and Mrs. Bumble. They decide to name her Petula. This new feline addition to the Bumble family brings them a couple of surprises, one of which involves her being able to walk on her hind legs. The Bumbles are so impressed with her ability to walk like a human, and Mr. Bumble suggests taking Petula on tour and making money from displaying her talent. Will they go on tour and turn Petula into the Circus Cat for the world to see? Buy your copy here to find out. Petula, Circus Cat comes in softcover ($13.99), hardcover ($26.99), and ebook ($3.50).

There you go. Another fun and interesting group of books from Austin Macauley. They would all make nice Christmas gifts. Thank you, Austin Macauley!
