The term “bucket list” comes from the saying “kick the bucket” and is essentially a list of everything you want to do before you eventually kick the bucket or die. While this sounds a little harsh, it can be a fun list of goals that keep you motivated or inspired to try new things. Bucket lists vary based on who the person is and what interests them, however, one topic that you can usually find on any bucket list is traveling or sightseeing. If you’ve decided now is the time to write your own bucket list, here are seven exciting things that you could add.
1. View the Ocean
Walking through wet sand on the beach, strolling into crashing waves, and looking for seashells are all part of the ocean bucket lists many people have. Some want to sit for hours and listen to the sound of waves crashing on rocks, while others wanted to swim in the oceans of Hawaii with dolphins.
2. Sightseeing in Utah
Thousands of people want to wander the deserts, cliffs, and hills of Utah, so they include it on their list. From hiking through Bryce Canyon National Park to sightseeing in Zions National Park, Utah’s red rocks are a natural draw for many. Other bucket listers want to visit Arches or Canyonlands in their travels. Who would have thought Utah could have so many beautiful and memorable areas to visit?
3. Jump From Plane
Yes, there are people that want to jump from a plane and plummet toward Earth at high speeds and not all of them are adrenaline junkies. Interestingly enough, many otherwise conservative people see jumping from a plane as a sort of rite of passage or something they should try before leaving this life.
4. Ride a Train
Have you ever been on a train? We aren’t talking about an amusement park train. We are talking traveling across several states or countries by riding the rails? That is the dream of some people. Sightseeing while in the comfort of an air-conditioned compartment. Sounds perfect.
5. Climb a Mountain
Some people enjoy climbing rocks using their fingers and toes and scaling certain mountains is on the bucket lists of many individuals. While the US is home to countless great rock climbing destinations, such as California’s Yosemite or Acadia National Park in Maine, there are many worldwide destinations, such as Thailand, Morroco and Nepal, that are on many adventurers lists.
6. Sandboard in a Desert
If you prefer warm-weather activities, sandboarding is the new sport for the most daring of outdoor enthusiasts. Grab a board and let the sands hold you up as your panel glides over the tiny fragments of earth.
7. Learn To Fly
For some, getting into an airplane and taking charge of the controls at 15,000 feet in the air is a dream come true, and that is probably why it is on their bucket list. While it may not be for everyone, those that dream of flying high and mingling with the clouds claim it would be a dream come true.
A bucket list is filled with hopes, and that is what makes it special. No matter why you include the items you dream of doing on your bucket list, you can be sure that taking time for yourself and enjoying the activity will make it worthwhile.
