Whether you’re playing Bingo in a dedicated hall or online, you’ll find your game is full of tension, suspense and fun! Everyone’s in the same boat – looking to land a bit of extra cash, while socialising with other players and the caller, or chat host, dependent on where you’re playing. But as soon as you log into an online Bingo lobby and select your game, you’ll find a number of different personalities. After all, the social aspect is what makes Bingo such a hit – and it would be boring if we were all the same. So, before you next play Bingo online, take a look at these different characters and decipher which one is most like you!
The newbie
Beginner. Novice. Noob. Rookie. You’ll be known by all these different names, but it just means you’re new – maybe not even necessarily new to the game of Bingo, but new to the chat, meaning you’ve missed all the previous conversation. Everyone is a newbie at one stage, before they figure out their true Bingo persona – so to speak. If you’re new to online Bingo, don’t worry, there are dedicated rooms for beginners, so you can pick the game up with people in a similar position. If you’re new to a chatroom, remember to be yourself – don’t spam and don’t go OTT with emojis – your fellow “roomies” will find you annoying!
The veteran
Veterans or seasoned professionals are those who have a great online presence. You may have been a member of the Bingo site for a number of years, logging on daily, or multiple times a day to get your Bingo and chat fix. You’re the kind of person that helps newbies with questions, is full of advice for your online friends and could quite possibly be mistaken for the chat host! In fact, you’ve probably considered becoming a chat host. How long have you been playing online Bingo and engaging in the chat rooms? Answer that question and you might find that you are the veteran – and veterans are who all Bingo personalities look up to. You are a font of knowledge and well-respected.
The bragger
As the name suggests, the bragger is the one that loves to bang on and on (and on!) about a win. It doesn’t matter how much you’ve won, or how many times, you love to share it and expect people to celebrate with you. But it’s not only wins, if you’re down to the final or second-last number, you’re quick to announce your progress during the game. When you win, not only are you shouting from the rooftops, but you log into the chat rooms to share the news too. Luckily, online Bingo chat rooms are particularly positive places, with the rest of the community quick to celebrate wins and commiserate losses.
The drifter
The drifter is quite elusive – a bit like your mate who wanders off on a night out, never to return. The same applies in Bingo. The drifter will be in the chat room, make some comments and then disappear. They will then do the same in another room and basically hop between A, B and C. They don’t settle. If this doesn’t sound like you, you could be the second kind of drifter. This particular character won’t say too much, unless they’ve found the perfect room. They will observe the situation, because they’ve not logged in for a chit chat. They may say a couple of words, but play quietly, take their winnings and leave – before doing the same elsewhere.
The blabbermouth
Because online Bingo is so sociable, if you are the blabbermouth, you’ll find that you are one of the most popular players in the chat. You’re the kind of person IRL (in real life) that would go up and talk to anybody about anything – and this is transferred to the online environment. You’re quick to big-up players when they are doing well, pick others up when they’re on a losing streak or in a pessimistic mood and generally love a chat. You’ll end each sentence with a smiley face and use emojis for days. You’ve probably not logged in to take the game seriously or with the aim of winning real cash, you’ve come to socialise instead!
These are the five main personalities you’re likely to come across. If none of these sound like you, you could be the superstitious type, the strategical player, the one who brings the banter, or is super competitive. Of course, combining this unique mix of different personalities is what makes the game so enjoyable.
