Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this blog post. The opinions I share are my own. The final season of The Originals begins seven years after four of the Mikaelson siblings – Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, and Kol – absorb a quarter of the Hollow's dark energy and flee New Orleans to keep their city and Hope safe. Meanwhile, Vincent Griffith and Josh Rosza preside over a peaceful Big Easy, while Hayley Marshall and Freya Mikaelson watch young Hope grow into a teenager. With Marcel Gerard following Rebekah out of town and Elijah stripped of his memory, all danger seems to be contained. Until a tragedy forces the siblings to return home to the French Quarter, bring a centuries-old evil along with them. What happens when darkness overtakes the thing you love most? The best is saved for last in the series' thirteen final heart-ripping episodes. The closing chapter of this family saga is as emotional as ever.
I have really enjoyed watching this series as I love vampire type shows and I will be sad to see it go. The ending is truly emotional and will you have on the edge of your seat! This series was addicting from the very first episode of season one. I highly recommend that you start with the Vampire Diaries, then watch the The Originals. Seeing the characters grow into adults and deal with so many issues (drama is not lacking in this series). There are some surprises throughout this series including deaths and relationships that go where you did not expect them to go, but it still is a great series to watch from beginning to end.
I cannot wait to see what the Mikaelson's do next.
Have you watched The Originals? If so, what are your thoughts?
