“The Love Story” Reminds Us Of Who Christ Is And What Christmas Is Truly About

Christmas is coming soon. For many, Christmas is a time to celebrate Jesus Christ’s birth. However, people often get caught up in the shopping, gifts, and holiday parties and they don’t pay much heed to the remembering of Christ and his birth. I, too, get caught up in the hustle and bustle of trying to get everything ready for Christmas morning, so I know I’m guilty of forgetting what Christmas is truly about, too. One thing that I have found that helps is, in the weeks leading up to Christmas, I try to read books about the coming of Christ with my family (and I even fail at that sometimes). A really great book that would be perfect for bedtime storytime, family time, or anytime is The Love Story, by Stenetta Anthony.

A Touching Story About Christ

This book is short and truly a sweet story! My eyes even watered while reading it. I love it because it’s simple enough for the young children but thought-provoking enough for the older children. It’s a wonderful introduction to who Christ is and his relationship with God. And, the book teaches us that God’s love is unconditional. It also is a great reminder of what Christ has done for us! It covers his birth and death and it takes a brief look at the wonderful life that Christ led.

In addition to the story, the author includes Bible references in the end, “A Special Message to Grown-ups,” and a Salvation Prayer. It’s a small book, too, so you could even bring it to church for little ones to look at. It would also make a great book for learning about Christ in Sunday school. And, it would make a wonderful and thoughtful Christmas gift and stocking stuffer. You could even purchase it before Christmas to read during December in preparation for the coming of Christ on Christmas Day. The book is available on Amazon in softcover for $9.13 and in Kindle version for $3.04 (prices subject to change).
