I have a cute family-friendly movie for you! It’s called The Ladybug, starring the voices of Lisa “Lisbug” Schwartz (a YouTube personality and from Not Cool), Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Haylie Duff (Napoleon Dynamite), and Norm MacDonald (Doctor Dolittle).
This is an adorable movie, featuring a cute, spunky, innocent, little ladybug named Ruby. In the beginning, she’s stuck in her glass case, confined to an artificially-created environment. While in captivity, she learns about Golden Canyon, the epitome of a land so beautiful and “an insect paradise.” Going to Golden Canyon also means living a life of freedom, which looks very appealing to Ruby.
Ruby eventually is able to escape and befriends a quirky dragonfly named Master Dan. Together, they set off in search of Golden Canyon. But, of course, suck a trek does not come without its perils and predicaments. As they search for a way to get to Golden Canyon, they develop a friendship between one another and make tons of other friends along the way. Will Ruby and Master Dan make it to Golden Canyon? The ending may surprise you. So, you’ll want to tune in to find out.
This is a movie that’s funny, suspenseful, adorable, and more! It truly reminds one of the difficult, but interesting, life a bug can live! Ruby is endearing. She is also sweetly naïve at times, yet ingenious when she needs to be. And, by the time the movie is finished, you may never look at a trapped bug the same again.

You can watch a trailer of The Ladybug here on YouTube. The Ladybug is from Lionsgate and will be released on DVD, Digital, and On-Demand on November 20, 2018. This movie is rated PG (for some action and mild rude humor). It is Dove approved for all ages, so it’d make the perfect movie to watch with the family! Maybe watch it during the upcoming Thanksgiving break! Or, buy it for a Christmas stocking stuffer and then the kids will have it to watch over Christmas break.
