The 5 Best Places For A Relaxing UK Holiday

The UK is a fantastic place for a holiday and somewhere that everyone should visit at some point in their life. London is the most obvious destination for a trip and it should certainly be on your list, but there are many other wonderful places dotted around the UK that are better suited to those looking for a relaxing vacation. There are many peaceful and incredibly beautiful spots around the UK so if you want to see this side of the UK then you should head to these areas. There are many places to choose from that will offer this but here are a few of the best.

1. Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire is an area of outstanding natural beauty but, due to its location on the Western edge of Wales, it is also a very quiet place which makes it somewhat of a hidden gem. It features a truly stunning coastline which is ideal for long walks but there are also a handful of excellent beaches for soaking up the sun too.

2. The Cotswolds

Located in the very pretty area of south-central England, The Cotswolds features a postcard-like setting with rolling hills and quaint medieval villages. You could spend a long weekend here enjoying the country air on a leisurely stroll before stopping off in a traditional English pub where you will find the locals to be incredibly friendly and charming.

3. Sussex

Sussex is a superb place for a vacation in southern England because it has a little bit of everything. Sussex consists of picturesque English countryside, a beautiful coastline and a handful of inviting cities and towns, most notably the vibrant city of Brighton in East Sussex. With so much to see and do in Sussex, the best way to explore this lovely area is by booking into Sussex holiday cottages so that you have a good base and somewhere to unwind in privacy after a long day of exploring and seeing the sights.

4. Scottish Highlands

You will struggle to find scenery as wild and beautiful as you do in the jaw-dropping Scottish Highlands. This mountainous region in northwest Scotland has multiple highlights to see on a relaxing break here, including Ben Nevis (the UK’s highest peak), Loch Ness (be sure to look out for the Loch Ness monster!) and Moray Firth where you can see dolphins swim.

5. Lake District

This majestic place in Northwest England is the nation’s largest National Park which is filled with enormous lakes, peaceful forests, imposing mountains and beautiful wildlife. It is a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday as there is so much to see and explore yet you can also spend your time simply sitting back and taking in the mesmerizing views.

When people think about the UK they normally first think of the bustling cities like London. While these places certainly should be explored, there are also many more peaceful spots around the UK which are incredibly beautiful and peaceful. Therefore, if you are looking for a relaxing trip to the UK then you should seriously consider any of the above destinations all of which show the great beauty of the area.
