It’s Memorial Day weekend which means a trip out of town. Whether you’re going on a beach mini-break or a water park, it’s always perfect to have something to read during downtime. I look forward to having me time in large group settings and books are one of the best ways to do that. Typically, I really enjoy reading biographies and historical fiction, but this time I carried with me something different. I was very happy to come across Nature’s Healing Spirit by Sheri McGregor plus 33 accomplished writers.
Healing in Nature
I always enjoy being in nature and the calmness gained from the natural world. This anthology brings the benefits of nature along with the joy of reading. The lives of 34 authors demonstrate the physical, mental and spiritual healing that can take place with nature in your life – no matter where you find it. This collection of true stories, essays and poems connects human life to nature and its positive effects on wellness, empathy and joy.
If you’re like me and many others who find solace in the natural world, you’ll really enjoy this new book released in March 2018. The voices of the anthology are diverse windows into many souls that have experienced the healing power of nature. Some essays describe how this beauty — ancient canyons in the Southwest, wooded parks in the East, mountains in the Pacific Northwest, and even a backyard full of bugs — can physically, mentally, and spiritually help one find peace, calm, serenity and perhaps, “home.”
Nature and Happiness
The human experience can be found throughout these stories along with the opportunity to join the writers in becoming stronger, wiser and happier. The seasons of life for each person are as unique as nature can be. Nature’s Healing Spirit teaches us the value of taking time out for nature in our daily lives, for it brings many benefits such as empathy, healing, better moods and spirit.
