This tasty holiday Peppermint Mocha Drink recipe uses everyday kitchen staples to create a delicious drink you will love.

All you need is:

  • some sugar
  • water
  • peppermint extract
  • powdered baking cocoa
  • hot espresso
  • steamed milk

In a medium saucepan, add water and sugar and bring to a boil. Stir well and continue to stir to prevent burning your mixture.

Once they have come to a boil, reduce the heat to a low simmer.

Wait until it is no longer boiling, then add in half of your peppermint extract (1.5 tsp) and stir well.

Leaving your saucepan at a low simmer makes the other part of the peppermint mocha.

In a small bowl, mix together your warm water and cocoa to create a paste.

Add to your paste your espresso, and remaining peppermint extract (1.5 tsp).

Add to your coffee mug your paste, your desired amount of syrup (I like to use 1 tablespoon), and your steamed milk.

Stir and drink as is, or top the drink with whipped cream and crushed-up candy canes!
