Puppies Chew! How Can You Stop Them From Destroying Your Stuff?

Do you have a CHEWER?

So cute until he grabs my earphones or phone charger!

Oh, I do, my Harley is a pit puppy, and we have to watch everything now.  He has destroyed my husbands Beats Headphones, my iPhone earbuds, hats, clothes and so much more.  Now the older he gets it is slowing down but still a pain in the butt.

So what can we do?  Are you tired of all the chewing?  I am!

First, we need to realize it is normal for dogs to CHEW, sorry to say but yes it is!  Puppies are explorers for sure and if something catches their eye and they can get then it will be chewed on for sure.  Teach the kids to pick up their stuff, and your husband.  I forget that step!

Harley LOVES Squeaky Toys too

So make sure to pick up items that your puppy might want to chew up.  My Harley was teething so bad, and that is when we had a lot of issues but since that isn’t an issue anymore…it is boredom now.  Chewing can be teething, boredom, anxiety, and even frustration.

They Need Chewing Toys!

Walk your dog at least once a day but try for three walks.

Harley goes outside several times a day, we play fetch and he also just loves to RUN! Get one of those balls you can throw. Also, teething toys are a must.  Harley loved ICE…I know, but it felt so good on his teeth.  Giving puppies ice cubes, special dog toys that can be frozen or frozen wet washcloths to chew will help the numb teething pain.

As dogs get older, they will love to chew on bones, sticks and just about anything else they are allowed to chew on.  They will chew for fun, stimulation, and relieve anxiety. You will need to get them toys or bones to help with their chewing needs.  We have so many of his chew bones in the house.  At night I pick them all up and put in a box…his toy box.
