Need A Gift Idea For A History Buff Or A Coca-Cola Fan? Check Out “The Coca-Cola Trail”

Coca-Cola is an icon of American history. Throughout my life, I’ve heard fun trivia about this famous soda drink. Who knows what was true and what was false. But, it’s all fun! And, now there is a cool book, The Coca-Cola Trail: People And Places In The History Of Coca-Cola, by Larry Jorgensen, that provides an entertaining look at the soda giant and that will help one discern what is true about the product and its company.

Coca-Cola

The Coca-Cola Trail takes you on a trip around America as it provides you with a fun and interesting look at the history of Coke and how and where it came to be what it is today.

This book contains 30 chapters, almost all of them take the reader to a different city that Coca-Cola has established itself in (which seems to be almost everywhere). And the author provides fascinating, historical trivia and tons of interesting pictures regarding the history of the soda company. The book also provides a look at influential people, who may not have worked for Coca-Cola, but were affected by the company or they affected the company themselves in some way.

Did you know the first advertisement for Coke made its appearance in 1886? And, did you know Coke was originally formulated by a pharmacist? In fact, according to this book, the pharmacist who created the Coke syrup had initially created the syrup to be a tonic to help cure him of his morphine addiction. The original formula was made from coca leaves, which are also used to create cocaine. He also utilized kola nuts, which serve as a source of caffeine. (Jorgensen, 2017)

The Book Would Make a Nice Gift!

This really is a great book. It would make a wonderful Christmas gift for history buffs in your life. So, now’s the time to snag this book up before the deal disappears.  Check it out—it’s a fun book, even if you’re not a Coca-Cola connoisseur!
