My picks for the 2018 Grammy’s

As we fade out of 2017 and into 2018, award season is beginning to take shape. At this time of the year, there are so many lists and discussions about what the best song, movie, films, TV show and everything else entertainment related was in 2017. The Oscar’s, Emmy’s and Grammy buzz starts to really ramp up and really gets people talking.

My picks for the 2018 Grammy’s

A little over a week ago they gave us the chance to see who was nominated for this year’s Grammy’s, the biggest and maybe most exciting night for the music industry. There are lots of really interesting nominees with some great stories like the ones in these fun facts you probably didn’t know about the 2018 Grammy nominees. There are so many different categories that it would take pages and pages to give you my thoughts on all of them but I thought it would be really fun to discuss my picks in my four favourite categories: general album, pop album, country album and of course, for all you with little ones out there like me, children’s album!

The general album category is really strong this year which makes for a really exciting awards night. It always features all of the best albums of the year which means the best competing against the best which is really fun. I’m not a big rap person so don’t know too much about some of the nominees but I love Bruno Mars and Lorde, they are really great. Their songs are really simple, catchy and fun which is always what I want. It’s a tough choice but I think Bruno Mars is my number one he just makes me smile!

Pop album, for me, is the big one! I love pop songs they are great to play in the car, to listen to while doing my shopping and to entertain the little ones! For me, Kesha and Lady Gaga made really fun and easy to listen to albums but I have to give this one to one of my favorites, Ed Sheeran. His music is just so good and his voice is absolutely the best. He kept me entertained loads this year on boring trips and while pottering around the house so I have to pick him! And he broke so many records, he has to win it.

Country music always gets me! It’s so soulful and vibrant, it can be a great pick me up when things aren’t going so well so I always make sure to keep an eye on this amazing category. Like Pop music, the nominees all really float my boat and I think the Grammy’s have done really great job picking some top-notch albums this year. For me though I am going to pick Thomas Rhett’s album, it’s just got that classic really good-natured feel to it and the song Unforgettable lives up to it name, that song really got stuck in my head.

Finally, Children’s album, something for all the parents out there! It used to be that you would endure and have to put up with some pretty bad stuff that your kids loved and that they would sing along to over and over again. Now though some of the stuff is actually ok even sometimes good and you want to hear it as much as your children. I’m giving my pick to Justin Roberts, he has been around and making amazing music for kids for so long that he has managed to fine tune his stuff to make it hard to beat, there is a reason he has won eight parent choice awards!

The Grammy’s are always so glamorous and fun, watching the stars come together to celebrate and perform is a highlight of the year and I will definitely be watching, I can’t wait for January 28th to see if my picks come true.
