Learning About The Solar System Can Be Fun And Fascinating!

I don’t know if you saw it, but, a few months ago, one could see the moon and one of the planets nearby (I think it was Venus). It was an impressive sight to see. Ever since then, I’ve been trying to get my family more interested in the solar system. I really wish I could go get a telescope, but that will cost a small fortune. Another great, and way more affordable, resource for learning about the solar system is the Smithsonian Exploration Station: Solar System (ISBN: 978-1626867222), by Jon Richards and from Silver Dolphin Books.

So Many Cool Things To Help Learn About The Solar System!

This is a really cool and educational set that will get a lot of kids excited and wanting to learn about the solar system.  This set comes with space toys, 22 glow-in-the-dark stars, 31 stickers, an 18″ x 13″ poster, and a 56-page guidebook with some really cool facts and information!

The Solar System poster encourages kids to learn about the various planets, their names, and their positioning in relation to one another. The glow-in-the-dark stars come with stickers, so kids can decorate their rooms and enjoy the glowing fun at night.

The guidebook talks about the various planets, comets, the Milky Way, shooting stars, and much more! For example, one of the Did You Know? fun facts in the book is: “Saturn is so light that it would float in a giant bathtub filled with water!” (p. 25)  Wow!  I had no idea, and I’m sure most kids would find that amazing. The guidebook is quite fascinating, providing tons of fun, educational information in an engaging manner that will stimulate young minds to want to learn more!

The Smithsonian Exploration Station: Solar System set is for kids 6+ years. It’s suggested retail price is $21.99. However, Amazon currently has it listed for $12.21 (price subject to change). I’m not sure how long that price will last, but that is a steal! The set is planned to be released on November 6, 2018, but you can pre-order it now. This would make a perfect Christmas gift for many young kids who want to learn more about the solar system!
