Learn to Embroider Kitty Cats

Whether you are a cat or a dog person, learning to do anything new is fun.  I consider myself a dog person, but I do like cats too.  Why am I talking about dogs and cats?  Because I have a cool book that teaches you to embroider different breeds of cats.  We all know that kitty cats have crazy personalities and looney behavior.  This book captures all of that!  I have never known how to stitch or sew for that matter.  However, “Cat Lady Embroidery” teaches you the whole way through.

The book has 380 motifs, including different breeds such as Persians, Ragdolls, Maine Coons, and many more.  There are cats chasing balls, playing in boxes, and even a kitty cat alphabet.  With so many project ideas, you won’t be able to decide what you want to do with your design.

“I know nothing about embroidery or how to make cat embroidery designs…I mean nothing! That is what I enjoyed about this book though. They take you from a complete beginner, like me, and explain the strands of embroidery floss. Even teaching how to thread a needle, making knots, all the way to a finished product. Now, just because I need this kind of explanation doesn’t mean you may need it. This book can also be used by experts. Like I’ve always said about any creation, no matter who you are, there is room for improvement.

Cat Lady Embroidery shows you the different styles of stitching.  There is a straight stitch, running stitch, backstitch, online, and chain stitch.  Trust me, there are more!  I am amazed at how many knots and stitches there are.  It is a bit intimidating as a beginner, but I do feel more at ease since the book teaches you every single step.  It is like a friend holding my hand through the whole process.  That sounds nice, doesn’t it?  Who wouldn’t want a nice, non-judgemental friend helping them?  That is what I think of the book as.

Believe it or not, my sister is thinking about using the book as a helper for her drawings.  She is an artist, and when she saw the book the first thing she wanted to do with it was draw the cats!  So I will be stitching, and she can draw.  A match made in cat heaven!
