Improve Your Daily Routine And Become Your Best Self

Modern lives are hectic and packed to the brim with tasks, appointments and responsibilities you need to take care of.

So many, in fact, you’re bound to feel overwhelmed and like you need to take a long break.

And while that’s a great way to replenish your energy, its beneficial effects are not going to last long if you go back to the same habits soon after.

The solution is much simpler. You need to establish a daily routine that works for you and try and stick to it as much as possible.

This can sound easy to do in theory, but the truth is that it’s not all that easy to achieve. In fact, it’s not unlikely you’re going to struggle a little until you get the hang of it.

If you want to make sure you don’t get lost through the process, here are some of the steps you should keep in mind when designing your routine program.

Be honest

The most important thing when you’re ere-planning your schedule is to be honest with yourself and have realistic expectations.

You must establish what you want to achieve in a day, then figure out a way to fit everything comfortably in your schedule.

During this stage, it’s crucial to be as objective and honest as possible with yourself.

Take your lifestyle into account, as well as your time-management abilities and how many activities you can squeeze in a day.

Trying to do too many things and falling short of achieving everything you’ve set to achieve can leave you feeling disappointed with yourself, and this is an impression you definitely want to avoid when aiming to become more productive.

Add structure

The cornerstone of becoming more organised is to start organising.

Make a list featuring everything you want to do during the day. Make sure you don’t only include what you want to do at work but also your home chores and any other errands you may have to run.

In the beginning, you can simply throw everything down, but as you become more accustomed to checking the list, you can take it a step further and organise the tasks based on their difficulty.

For example, if it’s feasible, you can arrange to complete the more strenuous, time-consuming tasks earlier in the morning, when your energy levels run higher.

Leaving difficult chores for later in the evening may be more challenging, and if you unconsciously rush to finish, you can be more prone to mistakes.

If you tend to procrastinate on things you don’t like doing (we all do that every now and then, right?), you can try and get them done in the morning so they’re not at the back of your mind throughout the day and affect your concentration.

Healthy habits

One of the best ways to improve your life is to get healthier habits. And although you’re likely aware of this, it can be difficult to break old patterns.

Committing to drastic changes all of a sudden can be scary and leave you feeling like you’ve put yourself in a cage.

Which is why it’s important to take a step-by-step approach.

For instance, if your sleep schedule is irregular and you oscillate between going to bed at 2 a.m. and crashing at 9 p.m. due to exhaustion, you should try the middle ground, when you go to bed at a reasonable hour that’s not too early, but also not so late that it’s close to dawn.

If you’re struggling to get a more balanced diet, you can look up recipes that include more fruits and veggies. You can also supplement your diet with certain superfoods such as cannabis seeds.

They have a high nutritional value, being rich in minerals such as zinc, iron, potassium and magnesium. They help you maintain optimal bone density and nerve impulse transmission.

If you want to have good performance, you need to feed your body well, so you’re in tip top shape and ready to tackle any challenge that comes your way.

Cannabis seeds also contain a high amount of protein, fibre, and fatty acids. These healthful compounds are what give the seeds their oxidative stress-reducing properties.

Remain flexible

Ideally, everything will always go according to a predetermined plan, but this is often not the case.

While on paper everything can look neat and organised, in practice you may encounter things that throw your schedule off the loop.

A task you estimated to not take over one hour to complete, may end up finishing in three hours’ time due to factors outside your control, something urgent may come up, or you may come down with a nasty cold and therefore not be able to work in your usual rhythm.

For this reason, it’s important to make allowances for unexpected situations and include them as integral parts of your schedule.

When you add a window of free time in your timetable, you ensure a smooth flow of things and make sure atypical events can be successfully merged into the rest of the day.

Trial run

One you’ve created your routine down to the details, it’s time to test it out and see how it holds in real life.

The truth is you won’t be completely sure if what you’ve designed is appropriate for you until you take your time to put it to the test. During this trial period, you should look out for any adjustments you may need to make.

Does your schedule and timing work realistically, and if not, what can you do to improve it? In order to test it out completely, aim for at least a month of experimenting and trying out what works for you.

As the days pass, make sure to keep track of all the changes you should make to have a more comfortable program.

It’s not easy creating a routine, after all, there are so many daily occurrences you must account for.

You might be concerned that you won’t be able to estimate exactly how long a task is going to take.

Sticking to a routine may also feel restrictive and overly-demanding, but don’t let yourself be deterred. Following these steps is the perfect way to form better habit
