How Much Does A Breast Augmentation Cost?

Breast augmentation is one of the world’s most requested cosmetic procedures. Women of all ages are able to boost their self-image and improve their overall quality of life with breast enhancement. But, there’s conflicting info throughout the web about how much you’ll pay and what’s actually included in your procedure.

We talked to triple board-certified surgeon and breast enhancement specialist Dr. Brady Harris to learn more about what goes into the cost of an augmentation.

What Will You Pay?

According to Dr. Harris, the average cost of breast augmentation at his practice can range anywhere from $5,000 to $7,000. But he says to be aware, breast enhancement is a highly custom procedure that can cost significantly more or less depending on your surgeon’s skill, your geographic location, and even the implant type you’ve chosen.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons agrees. The ASPS has estimated the average price of augmentation surgery to be just $3,824 nationwide. That includes cosmetic surgeons of all skill levels throughout the country. So, what goes into the price you’ll pay?

When pricing your augmentation, there are three components that contribute to the majority of your final cost. Those include;

● Your Surgeon’s Fees
● Anesthesia
● Operating/Facility Fees

Women interested in breast augmentation can typically save a big chunk of change when opting for a surgeon with his or her own accredited facility.

Other Costs to Consider

There are several other related expenses to your surgery that can add up if you’re paying out of pocket. These pre and post-surgical expenses can include;

● Medical Tests
● Lab Work
● Prescription Medications
● Post-Surgical Garments
● Follow-up Visits

While many surgeons will offer ‘all-inclusive’ pricing, others may price expenses individually. It’s a good idea to ask your surgeon what is included in your estimate at the time of your initial consultation. Furthermore, Dr. Harris suggests getting multiple quotes from more than one surgeon before making your final decision.

Breast Augmentation Financing

Breast augmentation surgery is an elective procedure that is not covered by insurance. In most cases, you will be paying out of pocket for your surgery. Many surgeons will offer flexible financing options for cosmetic procedures. If you’re seeking breast enhancement sooner than later, be sure to ask your surgeon about your options.

Take the Next Step

Would you like to learn more about breast augmentations and how much they’ll cost? If so, now might be a good time to schedule an in-person consultation with a breast enhancement specialist (or two). Look for a board-certified surgeon with experience performing augmentations to ensure an optimal outcome without complications.
