Whether you have been married for thirty years or have only known each other for three months, keeping the romance burning in a relationship is hugely important. But it doesn’t happen by itself – you both have to work as a team to make each other feel special by showing love and care, always trying to keep the relationship fresh and interesting. How can you keep the love alive and the passion burning?
Everyone loves a massage. Tell you’re significant other that you’ve noticed a little tension in their shoulders, back and neck and try to alleviate this tension. Your partner will be touched to see that you are so attentive to have noticed (even if they weren’t aware of it themselves) and will probably be inspired to return the deed. It’s a great way of being close and intimate but in a calm and sensual way.
Cook his or her favorite dish
The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach? Sure it is, but it works just the same for girls, too. We are all busy, but find the time, even if it’s just once or twice a month, to create a delicious meal. Make it extra special by preparing the table properly as opposed to sitting and wolfing it down while you watch TV!
Small gifts mean the world
It doesn’t take large, fancy and expensive gestures to show how much you love your other half. In fact, a small, symbolic present can be even more appreciated, especially when it is not expected. To make the strongest impression on your partner, think about creating a special hand-made gift. A framed picture of both of you seems even more special in these paper-free days when images seldom make it out of cyberspace. All you need is a printer and good quality consumables, such as photo paper and the right HP or Epson printer ink for your machine.
Leave a note
A short note left in the right place at the right time can mean the world to your other half. If you’re first to leave for work while your partner is still in bed, find a minute to write a message saying how much you love and care for him or her. Just make sure you leave it somewhere that a sleepy head will be certain to find it! The bedside table or even out on the driving seat of the car would work well. It certainly expresses your feelings more than any text message or email. Ladies (or men) with a taste for the dramatic might even like to leave a lipstick-written message on the bathroom mirror!
When your partner is busy or under stress, take some time to think objectively about how you can help deal with the task or problem at hand. In the modern world, we are all super-busy, but this fact in itself makes it all the more special when you are ready to put drop everything to help. And you know what they say – what goes around comes around.
