We are all busy-bodies. Maybe you’re a young professional trying to prove yourself at your new job. Perhaps you’re a parent with errands to run, dishes to clean, and a family to care for. I remember being a student running on caffeine, staying up late to study with my pulse racing.

No matter who you are, life can get busy.

Over the years, I found that one of the best ways to relax is by properly setting the ambiance of your living space. Here are a few of my tricks:

Declutter
A cluttered space means a cluttered mind. Try your best to keep your room, office, desk, etc. free from any sort of mess. It’s so much more refreshing walking into an organized space. You’ll feel less stressed and ready to take on whatever the day has planned for you.

Lighting
Lighting can set the tone for so many situations. In the bathroom, I like to have a light dimmer so I can relax while I take a bath. In my kitchen, we keep things bright. This way, I am motivated to cook and bake. How is the lighting in your rooms? Try to think of what you do in each room and what kind of lighting would suit the activities best.

Décor
How’s the setup in each of your rooms? Studies have shown that home décor can affect your mind and mood, so be wary of how you set everything up.
