You just need the correct chocolate mold, some pastel food gel colors, and then fill your chocolate balls with everything you love to put in your hot cocoa. 

In about 1 hour, you’ll have white chocolate hot cocoa bombs that look like Conversation Hearts ready to enjoy!

HOW TO MAKE CONVERSATION HEARTS HOT COCOA BOMBS

Pastel-colored white chocolate balls are made and filled with hot cocoa mix, Conversation Hearts, and marshmallows for a delicious hot drink you will enjoy!

When you pour the hot milk over them, they melt, and bubble, and add such a special treat to a drink that everyone already loves!

CONVERSATION HEARTS HOT COCOA BOMB INGREDIENTS

This fun Conversation Hearts Hot Cocoa recipe uses easy to find ingredients to create a delicious drink you will love.

You can find all of these ingredients at your local grocery store and through online stores like Amazon.

All you need is:

  • white melting chocolate 
  • hot cocoa mix
  • mini marshmallows 
  • hot milk
  • Valentine’s Conversation Hearts
  • assorted pastel food coloring gel – pink, green, blue, purple, yellow, peach 

CONVERSATION HEARTS HOT COCOA BOMB RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

Begin by placing the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, and melt in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring each time, until smooth and creamy.

Divide the melted chocolate into 5 small cups, and place a different drop of food coloring gel in each cup, making 5 pastel colors.

Stir the chocolate until the colors are smooth, and add a little more food coloring gel if you want the colors to be brighter. (If you only want to use 2 or 3 colors, only use 2 or 3 cups to divide the chocolate).

Stir the chocolate well, and spoon or ladle into the molds, making sure to coat the inside of the molds.

Pour the excess white chocolate back into the bowl, and place the molds in the refrigerator, and let harden for 15 minutes. 

Remove molds from the refrigerator, and carefully remove the half chocolate balls from molds, placing 6 half balls in a row. These will be the bottom parts or half of the cocoa bombs.

Heat a nonstick skillet, on low, and place one half ball with the open side down, melting just the edges, remove, and place on a cookie sheet, and fill the ball with the powdered cocoa mix, a conversation heart, and mini marshmallows. 

Repeat, until all 6 Balls are done.

Place the other half of the chocolate balls in the skillet, with the open side down, and melt just the edges of the ball.

Remove from the skillet, and immediately place on one of the chocolate balls, filled with the cocoa, etc., making the top of the ball/bomb.

Hold in place for a few seconds to make sure the top and bottom are melted together.

When all the cocoa bombs have been filled and melted together, place them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, until chocolate is completely set. 

Remove from the refrigerator, and set the cookie sheet on the counter.

Place more white chocolate in a separate microwave-safe bowl, and microwave at 15-second intervals until the chocolate melts. 

Stir well, and place the melted chocolate in a pastry bag, and pipe the white chocolate over the cocoa bombs (see photo) and place a conversation heart on the top.

Place one hot cocoa bomb in the bottom of a large mug, and pour heated milk over the top.

The cocoa bomb will melt and bubble, and marshmallows will float to the top. 

Stir the powdered cocoa, and enjoy!

In about an hour, you’ll have a beautiful hot chocolate drink that’s sure to become a new favorite!

This includes:

  • About 5 minutes of prep time
  • Close to 5 minutes to melt the white chocolate, color the chocolate, and pour the chocolate into the molds
  • Around 15 minutes for the chocolate balls to harden
  • 10 minutes to melt the edges of the chocolate balls, fill with goodies, and seal them together
  • 35 minutes to fully harden in the refrigerator and drizzle with chocolate

This February make sure to make a cup of hot chocolate with these cute Conversation Hearts Cocoa Bombs. These white chocolate cocoa bombs are decorated with pastel gel food coloring to look just like Conversation Hearts.

Ingredients

  • 16 Ounces of White Melting Chocolate - Chips or Almond Bark
  • 2 packets of Hot Cocoa Mix - about 1 heaping teaspoon in each Cocoa bomb
  • 1 cup of Mini Marshmallows - about 5 to each Cocoa Bomb
  • One package of Valentines Conversation Hearts
  • 6 cups of Hot Milk
  • 1 set of Silicone Molds
  • Melted White Chocolate to drizzle on top
  • Assorted pastels Food Coloring Gel - pink, green, blue, purple, yellow, peach - your choice

Instructions

  1. Place the White Chocolate in a Microwave safe bowl, and melt until smooth and creamy. Stir well.
  2. Divide the melted Chocolate into 5 small cups, and place a drop of Food Coloring Gel in cups, making 5 pastel colors, one color in each cup.
  3. Stir the chocolate until the colors are smooth, and add a little more food coloring gel if you want the colors brighter. (If you only want to use 2 or 3 colors, only use 2 or 3 cups to divide the chocolate)
  4. Spoon or ladle into the molds, making sure to coat the inside of the molds.
  5. Pour excess chocolate back into the bowl, and place the molds in the refrigerator, and let harden for 15 minutes.   10. When all the Cocoa Bombs have been filled and melted together, place them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, until chocolate is completely set.
  11. Remove from the Refrigerator, and set the cookie sheet on the counter.
  12. Place more White Chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, and microwave at 15-second intervals until the chocolate melts. Place the melted chocolate in a Pastry bag, and pipe the White Chocolate over the Cocoa Bombs (see photo) and place a Conversation Heart on the top.
  13. Place one Hot Cocoa Bomb in the bottom of a large mug, and pour heated milk over the top.
  14. Cocoa Bomb will melt and bubble, and marshmallows will float to the top.
  15. Stir the powdered cocoa, and Enjoy!
