COPYCAT SHAMROCK SHAKE TIPS AND QUESTIONS
If you’ve never made a Copycat Shamrock Shake, don’t worry! Below are some common questions and helpful tips. Hopefully, this will answer any questions you may have.
If not, feel free to ask in the comments and I’ll answer the best I can.
HOW LONG DOES IT REALLY TAKE TO MAKE A COPYCAT SHAMROCK SHAKE?
Shakes are extremely fast to make. This Irish-inspired shake is no exception. This Copycat Shamrock Shakes recipe takes approximately 5 minutes. TOTAL.
This includes:
- About 2 minutes to add the ice cream, milk, mint, and food coloring to a blender
- Close to 1 minute to blend until smooth
- Around 1 minute to pour into drinking glasses
- 1 minute to decorate with whipped cream and cherries
HOW DO I STORE LEFTOVER COPYCAT SHAMROCK SHAKES?
You can store leftover Copycat Shamrock Shakes in an airtight container in your fridge for 3 days. Simply stir before drinking.
The drink will be less creamy because the ice cream will be melted. It will still taste delicious!
CAN I MAKE A SHAKE WITHOUT ICE CREAM?
You can make a shake without ice cream. You can use ice instead of ice cream.
I suggest using the same amount of cups of ice that you would use of ice cream. Let your blender blend it all smooth.
If you feel that it is not creamy enough you can add more milk, heavy cream, or even raw egg yolk.
CAN I USE LOW-FAT MILK TO MAKE A SHAKE?
Yes, you can use low-fat milk to make a shake. The shake will not be as creamy since you are not using full-fat milk but it will still taste delicious.
You can also use other milk alternatives like oat milk, coconut milk, almond milk, etc to make a shake.
CAN I MAKE COPYCAT SHAMROCK SHAKES AHEAD OF TIME?
I wouldn’t recommend making Copycat Shamrock Shakes ahead of time because the ice cream will be melted by the time you enjoy it.
It only takes minutes to make one shake.
WHAT IS THE BEST BLENDER TO MAKE SHAKES?
There are a variety of blenders that are great for making shakes. You can use high-end ones like Vitamix or Blendtec to make great shakes.
You can also use smaller blenders like a NutriBullet. Since you’re not crushing ice you can use a very cheap blender to make a shake.
WHAT GOES WELL WITH COPYCAT SHAMROCK SHAKES?
Copycat Shamrock Shakes go well with a wide variety of St. Patrick’s Day snacks. These recipes would be great to serve together at a St. Patrick’s Day party.
Some of my personal favorites include:
- Kielbasa Bacon Bites
- Irish Meat Pies
- Layered Root Beer Float Cocktail
- Andes Mint Hot Cocoa Bombs
- Pumpkin Pie Milkshake
CAN I USE PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OILS INSTEAD OF PEPPERMINT EXTRACT?
Yes, you can use peppermint essential oils in this recipe instead of peppermint extract. The steps will be pretty much the same.
Peppermint essential oils are more concentrated in flavor than peppermint extract so I suggest using ¼ of the amount and taste-testing it, and then adding more if you need more peppermint flavor.
WHAT ELSE CAN I ADD TO THIS COPYCAT SHAMROCK SHAKE RECIPE?
This fun Copycat Shamrock Shake recipe not only tastes great, but it’s also incredibly versatile.
Try using mint chip ice cream instead of vanilla. YUM!
