Learning some cool tips and tricks is essential to getting the most out of your Facebook profile, including Facebook likes. Continue reading to learn some of the top Facebook hacks everyone should know about.
1. You Can Hide Your Last Name
Facebook can be a great place to connect with family or reconnect with those friends you haven’t spoken to in a while. Sometimes you do want to protect your privacy though.
Facebook has a great trick to hide your last name from your profile. Doing this will help protect you from any random people who attempt to look up your profile for sensitive information.
When you create your account you’ll need a first and last name but once your account has been created hiding your last name is simple.
- Go into Account Settings
- Then click on Language and click Tamil
- Wait until the page is translated back to English and click on General
- Chose Name and delete your last name
You’ll then be asked to review the change and enter your password to save. Once these steps are completed your last name will be hidden from your profile.
2. Reply to Messages With a Bot
One of the coolest Facebook messenger tricks is being able to automate bot replies. Getting a lot of messages from friends, family, and clients (if you’re a business owner) can get a little overwhelming.
It’s especially hard to get back to everyone in a timely manner. Setting up a bot to reply to messages while you’re away will let people know you’ll get back to them as soon as you can.
- To set this feature up go to Settings
- Click on Messaging
- You’ll see the Response Assistant, make sure to click Yes for Stay responsive
- Update the greeting and save it
- Change the Stay responsive option to schedule times you won’t be available
- Make sure to save the changes
3. You Can Mute Your Friends
We all have those Facebook friends that seem to post all day long. Sometimes you’d like to see their posts less often without having to delete them from your friend list. This is a problem with a pretty simple solution.
- Go to your friend’s most recent post
- Click on the ellipsis symbol
- You can choose to snooze their posts for 30 days
- Or you can hide all of their posts
- Choose the Hide Post option so Facebook can recognize you’d like to see less of these types of posts
4. Try Pirate English
One of the most fun and easy Facebook hacks is changing your language to Pirate English. This will help your profile page stand out from the crowd. Follow these simple steps to learn how to do this.
- Click on Settings
- Then choose Language
- Scroll down to English (Pirate) and make sure to save it
Some changes you’ll see include the Home button now being “Home Port” and Messages switching to “Helpin’ Bottle o’ Messages”.
5. You Can Download Videos From Facebook
Another awesome Facebook hack you should know about is downloading videos from Facebook. While Facebook doesn’t make it easy for you to download their content to view offline, there’s a trick that can help you do it.
One option for downloading videos to your Mac is using the Elmedia Player. All you have to do is enter the browser and paste the URL of your video. You’ll then have to click the option to download and you’re done!
Another way to download Facebook videos is by using AnyTrans. You can use this app to download and store videos to view on your iOS or Android devices.
6. Change up the Font
One way to create a Facebook profile overlay is by changing up the fonts on your profile status updates. If you want to change the look of your profile, add something no one else has, changing the font is the way to go.
Every profile on Facebook uses the same font but there are many great websites out there that you can use to change the font on your profile. This is a fun way to liven up your profile and status updates.
7. Save for Later
Do you ever wonder how to pin a post on Facebook? Sometimes you find yourself scrolling through boring posts but there are other times where you see a couple of interesting shared articles or videos. When this happens during a busy time you can’t read and watch them right away.
A simple solution to this issue is to save these links to read or watch at a later time. All you have to do is click on the ellipsis in the corner of the post and then click on Save link. To get back to your saved links just head to the Explore tab and scroll down to Saved.
A cool feature of the save option is that you can organize all your links and videos into different collections. So if you save a lot of recipe videos, you can organize them all together to refer back to.
